Great Food and service. Always an enjoyable evening out. A rare treat fo me. Not sure but it might not be child friendly. Have never seen little kids at dinner.

Excellent food, great service, good choice of drinks. Absolutely relaxing environment. Parking is a bit of a problem but if you don't mind walking a few meters that's not too bad. Would be lovely if they expanded a bit, it does get slightly cramped.

I researched good restaurants using Googles local guide reviews and finally chose this restaurant.

I was looking for a cozy peaceful spot with a dimmed light ambiance, and that is exactly what I found. It was moderately busy but still peaceful, the decor was not overly flashy but instead gave a confident " je suis francais" tone.

I requested a booking at a specific table via email and received a quick confirmation.

The menu was extensive and descriptive but I couldn't pronounce the names. I chose a first time starter of imported frogs legs, and the French sounding waiter encouraged and educated me on how they are best enjoyed. They were excellent.

Then for mains I had another first, rabbit in a red wine sauce. Excellent as well. My fiancé also enjoyed her herb baby chicken.

We finished with warm cherries in ice cream. Everything was perfect, the waiter and assistant waiters prepared the table for the different meals on perfect timing, they complimented us too, the chef came out to ask sincerely how customers were enjoying their food.

    It was perfect.
    Thank you

Myself and my husband both disliked this restaurant for the average food with high price tags and the indifferent service. In Johannesburg, this restaurant would not survive.

I have visited ile Maurice several already during our stay in Durban and it was consistent to say the least. The service is flawless, the food is the best of it all. Tasty, hot and fresh! It's a peaceful restaurant unlike many others where it's noisy. The chef even came our to ask how our meals were. Certainly an all round world class experience. Go there and see for yourself!

Although the service and management was really good, the food lacked flavor, quality and presentation, with a remarkably high priced menu, one would expect excellent food, we have been to many fine dining establishments and based on the high rating Ile Maurice had, we just had to try your menu unfortunately it was not what we expected.

My wife had a mushroom and prawn risotto and I had a calamari starter. Risotto was like biting into a bland cheese ball which lacked the flavor and taste of prawns, the calamari was cooked well but tasted like Tin fish chutney.

Fine dining means tasting food that you can not create at home, after the starters we had, I am confident anybody could create better at home.

P.S Maybe you should not have a table right next to the stair ways (where waiters and people are constantly walking and anything can fall into your plate)
