The bar and venue was decent but a friend and I had the worst experience from one of the bartenders who completely lost it because we used the wrong bathroom. It was frightful! The other person on duty (Josh) seemed to agree fully that it was okay for her to shout at and threaten us so I take it they typically deal with rougher crowds. I wouldn't recommend should you expect to be treated like a human being.

The Kim has been a favourite amongst my friendship circle for over a decade. Fair priced drinks and food and colourful patrons makes for great memories every time.

Situated on a very busy crossing. The vibe is nice. Since this is Cape Town's oldest bar, the decor is a extremely scruffy and not at all maintained but that probably just adds to the character that makes this place special. The staff are at home here, and they will make you feel at home. They do not serve craft beer (unless you count Jack Black as craft) because they want to stick to their roots instead of following the trends and go with the flow.

Great Pub, many fun nights had drinking with the locals and made many friends there. If you like beer or cheap triple vodkas & juice, this is you pub.

Have spent a good few nights on more than one occasion..Suits an intown low budget stay

However, it varied from being OK to poor in aspects

Random replenishment of house amenities eg. coffee, tea, toilet rolls , infrequent bedding changes, not following their own schedule.

The last strawwell there were a few..
Lost at least 3 or 4star rating for the above

    Inconsistency is the main issue
