I went there for dinner and had a magnificent experience. The place is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the food was awesome. I would definitely go there again. Very pricey but worth it.

First the positives: beautiful restaurant and wonderful staff, not too formal but just right.

In terms of food, we weren't particularly impressed. I guess it doesn't help that we in Asia and the Asian food at this place might be considered great by SA standards. We felt that the chef was overly creative but not quite hitting the spot with these over-engineered dishes. Taste should come first, the way it looks second! Needless to say that the place is quite expensive, won't be coming back.

We enjoyed the cheese platter outside and sampled two whites and two reds. The setting is exsquisite and the art beautiful. Wine tasting closes at 17:00 but they sell wine by the glass.

Great food, but disappointing service. On arrival, we were offered a glass of sparkling wine, but were not told that this is charged for - at most other restaurants, this is complementary. Normally this would not be worth a mention, but the dirty cutlery was definitely a big let down. The food was great, and the Botmaskop from the estate was awesome, although the wine list is way overpriced. My partner never received the bamboo shoot salad she had ordered while jasmine rice appeared without being ordered. At this level of the restaurant industry, these mistakes make for a very disappointing dining experience, and we are not likely to go there again.
