Great wine, a bit noisy and very touristy but enjoyable, one of South Africa's most historic wine estates. Especially loved the Chardonnay 2017, Pinotage 2016 and Constantia Rood 2016.
Having been to many wine estates in the West Cape I thought I should at least visit the oldest. The grounds are extensive and beautiful and the terrace eating space is sophisticated. There are several Dutch Cape buildings across the estate and lots of old tall oak trees. There is a good view of table mountain from the terrace area. Despite the grandeur of the wine tasting rooms I was tempted to taste or eat as the place lacked something.
We had some wine and food in the Deli. Food was good. Cheese platter and a salad. The white wine wasn’t that good. (Can’t remember the name). Service although very busy was very professional and quick. We didn’t have any views of the winelands while we eat. Maybe there is a place but we didn’t see it.
It remains the best winery in the Cape. Best cuisine and location. You can easily lose yourself in the past. Beautiful gardens and historical buildings. Very elegant.
We visited the Jonkershuis restaurant for our year end lunch. Enjoyed every minute of it. We were seated outside under the trees and took in the spectacular view! The food was really good (we selected the celebration menu) and fantastic value for money. I even had a chance to purchase some wines to take home. Overall a wonderful experience and will definitely return!
Great experience eating at the restaurant. Epic views and tranquility. Did not do the wine tasting, but I did buy some great wines. The lovely lady at the counter assisted me with a sample of their excellent Pinotage. Can't wait to go back and do the wine tour.
Beautiful wine estate! Views are incredible. Very nice for a trail run too.
The tour and wine tasting at Groot Constantia is nothing short of a treat. An informative, knowledgeable guide took us on a tour of their fascinating wine making facilities. The wine tasting afterwards gives our a wide range to pick from and one gets to taste quite a few too. The people helping there are also very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine.
A good place for wine tasting. Food is good and the service is nice and professional. I purchased six bottles of wine after wine tasting. There is a kind of museum for introducing the history of wine development in this area. They can do free delivering to you hotel in Cape Town if you purchase more than six bottles. It takes around 2-3 days for delivering. It is helpful for people who take red bus here.
It amazing. Such a fantastic experience of wine testing. Have a tour of wine yards and the grapes ground. Delicious wine and foods are available. can be spent lovely time with honey wine. Staff is very friendly.
Wine tasting experience ranks amongst the best experience I have ever had and most importantly - I made a lot new friends. I guess, with the magic of wine anything is possible. 😀
Taking all in the picturesque Constantia Valley was an inspiring treat.
It's a beautiful place! We unfortunately did not get to tour the vineyards and the grounds as it was raining. But our experience, alone, of the wine tasting was absolutely splendid. Such friendly staff and the food at the restaurant is unforgettable. Great exclusive wines too! I'll definitely be coming back to this gem of a place on my next trip to CPT!
Top notch. Paid R95 for a museum tour, wine tasting, cellar tour and a crystal glass to take home. This place is beautifully kept, lots of great open areas and many places to eat. Really good place to bring visitors to Cape Town.
Great wine, great views, 2 great restaurants and museum - a must for anyone visiting Cape Town.
Great place to relax and have a picnic. I'd suggest feeding the ducks in the duck pond and wine tasting ♡
Totally beautiful! A relaxing experience and a stunning scenery. I totally enjoyed the wine tasting, the tour and the pasta at the restaurant was the ultimate send off. Would love to visit again.
Great wine tours.
Had a really great tour at the estate. The tour guide was very much well informed about wines and the wine business.
Its also a really beautiful area. Great for picnics.
