The swimming pool is big enough to swim long laps and it is very clean. Some of the staff members are friendly and helpful.

Amazing stadium steeped in rugby history. A great pity about its location, had two phones stolen out of my hand exiting the stadium. Visit, watch a game, but make sure you pay extra for parking and be vigilant.

I definitely do not watch rugby by any means I tolerate it. But as a stadium this is the only stadium that is very pleasant to visit and I have done so several times. Plus I am a self-proclaimed Ambassador of Johannesburg so if the Lions can win and kick the other teams well, I am behind them! Johannesburg is beautiful and Cape Town utterly and completely overrated.

Ellis park needs to have a proper facilities person taking care of the facilities. Dirt is so thick on the stadium stands it's become so unhygenic to sit on those seats. Toilets are not working and closed off. The cleaning staff just sit in the bathrooms hiding from the public eye doing nothing. All they wait for is tea time and lunch time. At the events the bins overflow with dirt and the cleaners are not prepared to take them away until the event is over. So the kids walk in and amongst the Dirt!

Really awesome place to come watch your favourite team play.. the vibe and everything was fabulous.. only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because of the people in charge of directing cars where to park so called car guards were the cause of people getting parked in leading to frustrations which almost resulted in people coming to blows

I just love Ellis Park although I'm not a Lion supporter. The vibe is so so lekkerrrrr and everybody is just giving themselves a good time.. The securities are very effective in doing there job. No problem in going to the Rest Rooms or having a drink or something to eat. All facilities you will find all around the stadium.

The atmosphere is always greatespecially when Province is playing against the Lions
Easy access to the bathrooms all around the stadium.. You don't have to walk far to buy a drink or two or even something to eat. There's securities all around the stadium to assist and show you how or where to go if you ask for help.

The swimming pool is really awesome and big,the stadium host's rugby matches most of the time and the crowd turn out is usually huge and traffic occurs around the area sometimes

Ever since the 1995 Rugby World Cup I consider this stadium the home or South African rugby. With recent success reached by the local home team, the Lions, it has become even more of an entertaining day out. I don't visit the bar or bathrooms during half-time though, it can get a little crazy.

One of the greatest stadiums ever!!! The atmosphere is amazing. The crowd is loud. Food and beer stalls everywhere.

We sat quite high up and still had an amazing view of the game. Facilities were great and clean despite the stadium being jampacked full. We ubered so parking wasn't an issue! Sun was in our eyes the first half, but with sunglasses and a cap it shouldn't be a problem.

The best Rugby Stadium in Africa! What an experience for a local to witness their team (Emirates Lions or the national team Springboks) as well as a guest. Johannesburg will make you feel at home here in it's heart (Emirates Airline "Ellis" Park).

I saw the home team, which in support beat the Sharks in a Super Rugby Competition. It was also the first my girlfriend was at the stadium watching a game. There were also helpful attendants directing people to their allocated tickets seats.

The stadium is world class. The staff and security within the stadium premises are competent and professional. Outside the stadium fences though is a different story, I suggest you Uber to avoid the headache and anxiety.

Great place to watch the rugby. Took the kids, they loved it. Would stay away from the later games though. And plan your route in and out so you don't get lost in Johannesburg

Ellis Park Stadium is part of the history of JHB. It is where we won the 1995 Rugby World Cup but also the neighborhood where I grew up in the 1970s. I remember the Willy John McBride English Irish Lions (1968) when they demolished the Springboks but could only manage a draw at Ellis Park. I was there as a small boy selling pamphlets and managing to sit on the steps on the main pavilion. A truly life changing experience! Alas, also the venue where the All Blacks killed us in recent years. I tend to agree with those saying that they might be the best sport team of all times.
