Modern setup but quality not reflected in the food price--too much.

Great place to grab some food or a drink! The staff is super friendly and on the spot! The menu is simple but well executed food! Burgers or steak is the option. And they do that reall fine! ❤️

Always busy but relaxing, friendly bar staff. Go out of their way to make you feel at home, whether alone or with friends. Service is fast, polite. People visiting the place is friendly and friendly chats is all round. Stylish and easy easy going. No dress code necessary everyone welcomes. It has become on of my favourite stops at the waterkant.

I heard great things about this bar so rocked up to see for myself. A super-elegant bar with different themes in each room. Sit in a horse saddle and suck back a beer, wander down back and have a steak to die for or zoom upstairs to the chill out zone with its long, soft couches - there's even a cheeky little smokers balcony upstairs and down.

It's base clientele is the MASSIVELY trendy and friendly LGBT community however, regardless of your sexual orientation, you will be guaranteed a warm welcome and a first class night in one of the Cape's best designed bars. Sample each room, talk to the locals and try one of their outrageous steaks and you'll leave feeling you've just been somewhere very special.

Its off the tourist trail in a quiet part of the city centre but what struck me most was the level of engagement and conversation amongst all clientele, hardly anyone was using their phones, too busy talking and living! If I could give it six stars I would.

Love coming back to Cafe Manhattan! The energy here is always light and fun!

It's perfect for a quick drinks catchup with friends, and if you're feeling peckish, they have a great bar style menu.

Be warned, their burgers are massive and can easily be shared.

Love the vibe this place has. My gay friend doesn't wanna be seen in this part of the world until his summer body is ready. That says nothing about the place and everything about conversations the gay community needs to have about their shallowness.

Back to Manhattan has a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. I go here for sundowners quite often.

The music is so loud that I found myself screaming most of the time. (The music is lame and sounds like the stuff on VH1.) The menu is small and limited, and so overpriced.
On a positive note, the waiters and waitresses were extremely attentive and are probably the reason for the two stars.

Cafe Manhattan is no longer what we have come to know and love. It has become half the experience for double the price. The quality of the food continues to decline while the prices steadily increase. That all said, the worst part of this restaurant has become the service. Entertaining friends from abroad, I was left embarrassed by not only the general decorum of our waiter but his blatant, suggestive behavior which was nothing short of sleazy. I'm all for a bit of fun, but this guy was clearly on drugs. Never again!

This was once a well rounded and enjoyable place, unfortunately that has now changed.

The food is now of a lower quality and has increased in price considerably. Menus are now laminated paper as apposed to the wood and leather ones. Staff moral seems to be dwindling.

Cool atmosphere, very friendly service though chaotic at times.
You will love the atmosphere of a mixed crowd. Fun music and vibes
Good food quality: charred fillet is awesome. Great cocktails too!
Definitely a place to go back to especially to start up a party night!

Definitely a great vibe. It's cozy and relaxed. The staff are fun and helpful and make you feel comfortable. Definitely a place to feel a party vibe without the over bearing feeling of a nightclub

An inclusive bar and restaurants. Bring your friends for a great vibe. In the heart of Cape Town's pink village. Doors open to LGTBI+ and allies the food is good. The staff is friendly and always welcoming.
