We made a stop over on our way back to Plettenbergbay for lunch. This was the best lunch at the best price that we've had for the entire weekend. Brilliant end to a fantastic weekend. Next time a definite stop.
This is a fabulous game reserve with limited game but has a few features other do not have. You can do an early morning walk with the elephants and a game drive with a qualified ranger. Accommodation is brilliant, you stay in luxury tentsan exciting experience even for those who normally hate campingthis is glamping to the max.
The Restaurant is excellent for dinner and breakfast is fabulouslyi recommend this place highly
We were staying in Oudtshoorn and tried to book a table for two that evening. The guest house owner kindly telephoned to arrange this but was informed that all tables were booked for that evening. As it was only 4.30 he suggested that we go up then and enjoy a drink before returning to town before dinner. Arrived at the gatehouse to be refused entry!!! Young man (very polite) said that he had been told not to allow anyone entrance unless they had a reservation. Explained that we only wanted to call in for a drink.no change. My advice is don't go out of your way to visit this place unless you have a booking. I suspect that tour coaches are their 'bread and butter' and that independent travellers are accommodated only when it suits.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Lodge. The Staff is friendly and helpful and the tent was in a neat and clean condition.
The Elephant encounter was a highlight as well as the feeding of the Lions and the Game Drive. A good variety of animals to see. Would definitly visit again.
I loved this place. The food was delicious, service brilliant. And in a perfect setting. Was relaxing and most enjoyable. We had the fantastic experience of feeding the elephants. What majestic and beautiful animals they are. They so intelligent. The staff were really interactive with the guests. Up close and personal with these gentle giants was such a unique and special experience.
I loved this place. The food was delicious, service brilliant. And in a perfect setting. Was relaxing and most enjoyable.
First, let's focus on the positives. The food and the accommodation were incredibly good. We stayed in one of horizon tents, and it was amazing! Lovely bath, huge bed, electric blankets, etc. The food was also great in the restaurant.
The downside was to do with the game drive in the morning. Buffelsdrift has lions, but if you don't pay for the lion feeding experience you won't get to see them. It's the same with the elephants, and the walking or brushing experiences. Our drive went past them as they were walking out with someone. Only animal the guide didn't point out and stop to allow us to look at.
That just left a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth.
This place is beautiful. I wish we stayed more days to go for a game drive as the days we spend there it had been raining. I enjoyed taking my afternoon bath looking at the sunset and impalas playing around. the sound of birds calmed me to sleep. I would travel back to have more experience. The tents are luxurious and clean, staff so professional and friendly, the restaurant had all tasty meals. It was worth it.
Evening bush drive absolutely amazing. Rangers very knowledgeable and we saw almost all animals on the reserve. Suffering drought conditions. Food and service excellent
Been to the restaurant twice and it's always a fantastic experience. Staff are attentive but not annoying, the hippo in the lake looked happy and the steaks were to die for. Wish I could give it 6 stars
Excellent spot and fantastic experience for the family. Must do the game drive.
Friendly people. Good food. Lovely setting. Only negative is the geese making a lot of noise at night.
Visit Buffelsdrift for a truly unique African wildlife experience. Here you can experience an extraordinary one-on-one interaction with elephants. Expect to get a glimpse of Africa's incredible wildlife including rhinos, Cape buffalos, giraffes and hippos. Service from staff is impeccable, which reinforces the notion that South Africa is a friendly nation.
Great experience. Especially the elephant feeding. Gourmet meals for lunch and dinner. Buffet breakfast in the morning. Luxury tented accommodation. 4x4 guided safari game drive. Highly recommended.
We decided to go for breakfast at this venue as the ostrich tour we were supposed to do was really busy and booked out. At the off chance we drove into the venue and were greeted warmly by probably one of the best waitrons I have ever had the pleasure of being served by, his name is Andy. Not only was he good at his job, he was brilliant at making conversation and pointing out all the types of species living on this game farm. At the end he did the game from a major service and even handed us some pamplets noting the best times to visit along with the prices as well as some material for us to read at home, Andy, you are an asset to this business. Can't wait to come back :-) PS if you do go there yourself definitely eat the venison Burger, that will blow you away :-)
Very good experience, I will definitely come. Staff very friendly
Good service..friendly staff. Lovely scenery..
Good food, great view. Lovely tours in the wild!
Fantastic game lodge, Our guide she was fantastic and really went out of the way to make sure we had the best experience. We then had lunch On The Water's Edge which was fantastic and the food was great very reasonably priced. 10 /10.
We cannot wait to come back next year!
Went to the restaurant, was pleasant and friendly efficient service even though they were very busy. Would recommend
