Riverside Lodge was amazing , the owners went way past what we would expect from a Guest lodge. The breakfast was to die for! Will definately be recommending the Lodge to all family and friends.

This is a delightful B&B run by a friendly and cultured couple who love South Africa, its heritage and wildlife. Perfect food, drink, atmosphere, setting and an honour-system bar - enjoy a Windhoek on the expansive deck overlooking the river and handsome suspension bridge. All this in an interesting town with numerous century-old buildings, including Queens Hotel in Baron Van Reede Street, which serves exquisite meals of exceptional standard.

For we three Australians, it was our happy introduction to the Karoo. We continued to Laingsburg and Matjiesfontein and enjoyed the people, singular farming, climatic challenges, bold landscapes, zoology and traditions.
