Such friendly staff and affordable prices, this has got to be the best option for car hire in Cape Town. Especially the airport drop off procedure. They drive you to the airport, drop you off, than head off with the car, no parking problems, no traffic problems and no extra charge. We opted to get a shuttle via our hotel to town. We Uber'ed around the city and it was only when we wanted to go sight seeing that we picked up our car. So much easier and again, no traffic or parking problems. We were able to enjoy or holiday

Your staff are very friendly and patient.
As my clients change their minds all the time and my car rental bookings are always changing and updating as per clients needs, your staff just go along and make the changes no matter how many times and iv never felt like I was causing them frustration with all my changes. This is a very good thing.

I visit family in Cape Town from UK once or twice every year.
In the past I have hired cars form other companies but none compare to Around About Cars .
I can't comment on other branches but the Cape Town branch is a pleasure to visit. I'm always greeted with smiling faces, courtesy and a friendly relaxed service.
The price has always been unbeatable, the car I receive has always been well prepared and the team are always happy to deliver the car to my daughter's house in Claremont and taking me to Bloem St to carry out the paperwork.
Overall. I've been hiring cars from Around About Cars at Cape Town for 7 years and will continue to do so and would recommend them to anyone

We've rented a car from Around About Cars three different times for various excursions in SA and will likely rent again from them. Service was great, rental price was extremely reasonable, and the car was in perfect shape and ran well. Their office was around the corner from where we had an apartment and it was convenient. We mainly dealt with Steve (really sharp), Gladstone and intern Kishe and their customer service was excellent.
Always be sure that if you get a TomTom (GPS), that it is in the language you need and that it definitely works/charges (turn it off and on a few times) before you drive off. Note too that when you return the car, their policy is that you go with them in the car to the gas station for a fill up that you pay (something about the tank has to be slowly filled or it will register full when it's not). Your travel has to be within a 500 kilometer radius, I believe, if you ever had a problem and needed their onsite assistance - but check with them on this.
Overall, we were very pleased with Around About Cars and recommend them.

We first found AroundaboutCars on a visit to our family in Cape Town in 2010 and now are about to hire a car from them again for the 4th time. One of our first priorities each time in organising our family get-together is to contact Moni and her colleagues to ensure they can provide a car for us for 3 - 4 weeks. We have had wonderful service from them on each occasion and we always look forward to meeting them. Without exception we have found them most efficient, courteous, helpful and full of fun. Their work in checking our needs, and advising on alternatives is great and we feel totally safe in our dealings with them.
As for costs, best value by far that we have seen and no problem of any sort regarding honesty and fairness.
We are delighted to support them.

Brilliant service (from Steve, Max and Simba), with no payment surprises.

Having never rented a car abroad before I was worried about getting overcharged etc, but the staff at Around About Cars were brilliant and explained all the terms and conditions clearly.

Returning the car was a smooth and quick operation, I'd definitely recommend them and if I'm ever in Cape Town again I'll be hiring from them!

During the course of January, i hired a car from Aroundabout cars. I had the privilege of dealing with a gentleman by the name of Wayne. I have not experienced such good service in a very long time. He was efficient, direct, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. This will definitely not be my last time i deal with this compant In a world where there are more complaints than compliments, my heartfelt thanks to Wayne for making this a most pleasant experience, one that i would recommend to anyone. I've used Around About Cars several times in the past 2 years and am using them again next month for a 3 week rental. They are always super quick to respond with answers and solutions, their rates are by far the best and the staff are friendly and helpful on e mail and in person. All the vehicles I've used have been just great, and that really matters as I travel alone when in the Cape. I'm in the tourism industry and have no hesitation in recommending them to my colleagues, friends and family. Keep up the good work you guys!

No problems. Friendly staff. Got what I expected and what we agreed upon. I had the car for nearly 3 weeks, and I caused no damage to it and they didn't try to charge me for any.
Some people have complained about the charge to fill up the gas tank when you return the car. As they explain, there is a difference between "full" and "topped off". When you receive your car it is topped off, meaning that it is more than full. Even when your car says it's full, more gas will fit in the tank until it is topped off. I drove my car for several days and the meter still said it was full, because it was topped off at the beginning. Therefore when you return the car they will top it off again and you'll pay for it.
As they explain, they do not profit from selling you petrol. In fact I went with them to the station down the street where they filled it up, and I paid the station directly for it. So the charge for petrol in the end is definitely no scam.
