Unfortunately they had trouble with their own power supply (not Eskom) and was unable to serve any hot drinks, milkshakes, the house brand chicken or pizza. I felt sorry for the very nice and friendly waiter, but we chose to visit another restaurant and rather come back when they hopefully sorted out their power issues.

They have one of the best views of the beach. Their food was amazing and their platters are so filling. Food preparation was quick too. We had their mussel pot which was very tasty. They also have a great range of gin to drink from. Would visit again.

Good sized portions. Bit more pricey than the other places in the area. Nice view. We were here in off season, so it was very quiet.

Only thing was no finger bowl for prawns and nobody came to ask if all was OK. Steak was superb and staff very friendly

55 Knots is a modern restaurant serving delicious food. The open outside deck is marvelous on sunny days. Interior hasa nautical theme, with original Seagull motors mounted on the walls.
It has a full bar that is reasonably priced. The food is well presented. Service was friendly and efficient. We always have a meal there when in Struisbaai.

I've only been there for cake. I had the red velvet cake such turned out to be a cheesecake topped with red velvet cake. It was a very good surprise and very delicious. The staff is very friendly and from the terrace you have a beautiful view of the beach.

Nice ambiente. The lady in charge put a lot of effort in the service.
Though very different experiences with the food ordered, some dishes were good, some were just okay
Service was okay, but not great. One waitress was sneezing on a customers plate while walking up the stairs. Served it anyway.
One of the 3 us got a different dish than ordered..

Fancy, cosy setup. The service is excellent. Ordered the fish of the day which was yellow tail, but did not enjoy it. Lacked flavour and had a sea water taste.

On my first visit I shared a 4 person platter (R520): ribs, hake and chicken wings were great, calamari was tender but with very stodgy/oily batter.
Next visit we tried the rib wrap (R110), which had a shocking combo of flavors in the wrap, but came with nice salad.
Beef burger with chips (R75) was cheap sour tasting meat, way overcooked, no sauce, laden with raw onion and enclosed in a packet roll bun.
Staff are nice! I hope they sort the failing dishes out or remove from menu, as they are really a let down.
No liquor license, bring your own.
