We did the food and water park deal which felt like a great bargain. The water park was clean and warm. The rooms were spacious and had all the needed accommodations. It was the perfect weekday getaway!
Fun place for families. Different water fun from youngest to oldest. Cabana was great since we had 4 under 4 with us. Great breakfast in dining room and good pizza in cabana. Even with so many little ones rooms were quiet at night! Would go again!
We had a great experience. The room was clean, staff was friendly, and water parks kept our 3 and 6 year old busy for the duration of our stay, which was one overnight. Also, food was good and convenient, with delivery to our table. We went the weekend before Christmas and were happy it wasn't to busy on Friday night. It was busier on Saturday. The only issue we had was being misdirected to our room upon arrival. We recommend and will definitely be back.
Let me preface this before I get into the review. The water park is top notch. It really is a gem of the tri city area. There is plenty to do for every member of the family inside the facility. The lifeguards are plentiful and very nice. Though I didn't use them the food and drink vending looked great and a lot of the guests were enjoying themselves.
With that being said behind this magnificent water park lurks a hotel with a lot to be desired for the money you will be spending.
-the mattresses were so hard I'm still not sure if someone put the box springs on top of the comfy mattress you would expect in a hotel that price. As an adult you are going to bed with some aches and pains from a long day at the park and this bed did nothing to bring on what could be a great sleep. I know it costs a lot to maintain a water park of that size but it wouldn't hurt to put some of that focus on the ergonomics of sleeping. I probably would have them for the following and gave them 4.5 or 5 stars had they nailed that area.
-House keeping was nice and friendly but our room only came with 1 roll of toilet paper (which was not full). To call the front desk you have to go through the same prompts that you would if you called from outside the hotel. When we called down for more toilet we were on hold for 20 minutes. During that time I was able to start the walk down to the front desk, where I happened to catch the house keeping manager at his desk and luckily score a roll from him. That was just cumbersome and awkward.
-Pros: able to check in before the posted time
Nice staff when you can reach them.
The place is definitely focusing great efforts on the water park, but the hotel side has some room to improve the experience. I would hate to think that the owners are completely fine luring you in with the spectacle of the park and letting you reside in mediocre conditions but it sure seems that way.
If you are close enough to get day passes and head home to sleep in your own bed I would definitely recommend that. If not, I would make sure your room is stocked accordingly for multiple guests if you have them (ask for extra towels too because you will shower more due to the chemicals). I would also bring a sleep aid of your choice until they do something about those beds.
There is something for everyone to enjoy here. From a lazy river to big, fast water slides, and smaller water slides too. They have life jackets on hand to keep the little non-swimmers safe, and fun play spaces to appeal to different ages. You do not have to be a guest at Zehnder's to use Splash Village. I would recommend calling to purchase your tickets if there is any chance you might have to cancel or reschedule. The online system tickets are non-refundable.
It was a wonderful min vacation and I definitely will be back!! Love love Loved it! Staff was nice, room excellent, food was "eh" but eatable. My favorite actually was the breakup buffet. I definitely will be back!
The water park was amazing! Especially the new wing they built onto the water park. This park has something for everyone. If you are a thrill seeker then try the purple slide that drops out from under your feet. If you're with a group of friends, then you all can go down the giant 4 person water slide. If you're looking for more casual water slides then try the older ones indoors. That's just the water slides though, me and my group of friends were able to stay there for about 3.5 hours without ever being bored. Amazing water park at an amazing price. 10/10
Had a lot of fun . I will be back in a couple months. The water park isn't cleaned very well, only surface cleaned. I was there for two days and so was the band aid I walked by and said hello and good bye too! Rooms were really clean I was cool with that. Bathroom drain didn't drain properly. I went downstairs for milk for my 19 month old and the guy running the kitchen must of sensed my tiredness and just gave me milk. Very friendly staff.
As someone who does not enjoy amusement park crowds in general, I can't recommend Zehnder's highly enough. Our family has done the Eat and Sleep package the last two summers and have thoroughly enjoyed it both times. I definitely suggest getting there early on the first day - you can use the water park starting at noon, and though they say check-in is 4pm, our room was ready by 1:30. The park is great and has something for everyone. Enjoy!
I have been going to Splash Village for years. They always make it a special time. I'm really glad that we got to go again this year and explore even more of what Frankenmuth has to offer. I have to say the food that they have at the hotel is the best in the entire city! No need to travel outside of the hotel to get the best pizza or Burger. The rooms are amazing and we are looking forward to seeing the Loft sweet next time.
My daughter and I go to Frankenmuth every year in August for a mother-daughter get-away. We started our tradition in 1997 before when it was just a quaint motel, I honestly enjoyed it more then and wish it would have kept the same ambiance. We still enjoy our stay and have always had a wonderful experience at Zehnder's. Cannot wait for August.
The location is perfect, it's not far from all the central shops. There's a shuttle bus as well, but it doesn't start until 4pm. Driving isn't bad at all though & there's enough parking in the area. The rooms are clean & the service is extremely friendly. The food is also very good. I definitely recommend the elf bread. The water park is also nice, the vortex slide is unique and is a fun experience.
Went to Splash Village over Spring Break and had a great time! The hotel rooms are big and very nice. They have really good food at the restaurant downstairs. As far as the water park goes, it's alright. The 4 person slide is awesome, and the basketball pools are fun, but overall there's definitely a sense that it's meant for younger kids. I would definitely visit again though!
We only used the water park day passes but had an awesome time. There are 2 parks under one roof. One that is more kid friendly and the other is for big kids. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. The only down side. The locker room are too small!
