Please learn from others mistakes and dont come here. They are rude and unpleasant the second you walk in. Their ER room is so outdated and so dirty. They had gloves on the bed blood in the suction bowl. The doctor told me when i asked for motrin to go buy it. I had legit pain puss bubles on my tooth amd i came there to get antibodies motrin and my gums drained. Arent u suppose to treat patient pain instead of telling them to go to walmart and buy a $5 bottle of motrin. Then the nurse who checked me out said when i told her its whatever the doctor orders okay so im not goimg to arguee with you. Its motrin lady. They cut my gum open with a knife and didnt adk me if i wanted it numb first when i stopped them and requested it to be dumbed they said why its going ti be worse pain to numb it and you will be waiting longer. So professional. Thats why all the reviews are so bad here. I see them getting lots of law suites from their malpractice. Id never trust these clowns with my life.

I had both of my kids there with Dr. Kingsbury who was amazing. The nurses on the floor were very kind and assisted me with everything I needed. After giving birth, I was very hungry, and my nurse went out of her way to get me food and something to drink.

Went in with my mother-in-law for miner surgery. When we came in we didn't know where to go. We went into the closest room, told them her name, and they loved her up to tell us where we needed to be. The nurses and staff for the surgery were very friendly and helpful. When The last shift ended at the front desk for outpatient surgery the nurse went around to the few people left to tell them what was going on in their families case, and what they would need to do or how to contact someone. I wondered around a bit, and they called my cell to tell me when I could see her. The doctor also talked to me after the surgery to tell me how it went, and what to expect.
The hospital is a nice facility, very peaceful and pretty. I was told the cafeteria isn't so good anymore by a nurse, which is sad because I've been in other hospitals where it was really good food, but subway worked. Over by pediatric there is a fish tank, and a kid table. It would be nice if they had a bit more to entertain young kids for family that have to bring their children or child.
They were running really behind. The surgery started an hour and a half later than it was supposed to. We ended up being there all day.response / report this review -

I recently had a baby at Genesys. Labor staff mediochre but my postpartum Nurse Amy was the most caring and compassionate Nurse I have ever had. You can tell she loves her job. She was soo patient and answered all of my million questions. Never made us feel rushed at all. Thank you Amy for a wonderful stay. We were blessed to be in your care!

The worst labor and delivery unit on the planet. Please, please choose another hospital. Nurses do not understand methods of helping a women achieve vaginal birth. You are set on a timeline with many interventions that all lead to unneeded c-section. Nothing has been done to improve their 50% c-section rate. Unless you are someone who births quickly, they will not know how to help your labor progress other than medical procedures and eventually a c-section. Its not just labor/delivery nurses that have an issue, a postpartum nurse kept me up all night and harassed me. She wanted to get all baby testing done in the middle of the night. My child screamed for an hour straight as the nurse pricked his heal over and over (no warm wash cloth as most nurses use to help with blood flow). Horrible labor and delivery staff. I have reported the entire incident to the hospital. Since then I have heard COUNTLESS stories similar in nature. Ridiculous that they even have clients and haven’t been shut down. False documentation as well and I was checked out a day early just to get some rest. Great c-section - great doctor - had to switch providers due to Genesys labor and delivery nurse staff.

The Emergency Room at Genysis is one of the most poorly run ERs I have ever seen. I brought my father in when he was in excruciating pain from bladder cancer and we have been sitting in the waiting room for more than three hours. All the folks at the desk tell us is that he can't get anything for pain until a doctor sees him and a doctor can't see him until they have a free bed and they have no idea when that will be. What part of emergency don't these folks understand?

I went in for a procedure 9/20/17. I am very greatful for the kind, professional and caring attention of my nurses Sara and Terry. They both are a wondeful and valuable asset to Genesys Hospital. Thank you ladies.

This place deserves a -5 stars. Staff could not be any more rude if they tried. Most uncaring place i have ever been. And i used to work in the medical field. Since this is the only hospital my Doctor is affiliated with, it is time to change doctors. I have been waiting over 5.5 hours. Told i am next in line, but that was over 1.5 hours ago. And noone else has been taken to the back. People have been released, but.never again will i voluntarily walk into this place.

I wouldn't recommend this hospital should you have a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia. I understand that those with said diseases can sometimes be challenging to handle, however it seemed as though the nurses I encountered didn't have the slightest clue as to what those diagnoses mean and how to interact with those who are impaired cognitively. Every nurse and aide (except one on the 3rd shift, who's name I'm sad to say I don't recall, she was lovely) were very short and rude with my mother who has moderate Alzheimer's and was in for a broken leg. Very little compassion or patience, even though I was making their job much easier by staying all day and night and diverting my mother when she became frustrated. My mother is not a difficult patient, she just can't udnerstand many things and is resistant to being pushed around and prodded without so much as a "how's it going today, Mrs. X," as I would be as well! How do they treat someone without family there, who maybe is transferred from a nursing home or exhibits more serious behavioral issues? I can't imagine.
Also with Alzheimer's, if someone is rude and abrupt towards the senior then they become agitated and in turn become harder to deal with - it's a vicious cycle. I'd expect trained nurses to know this. We are an aging population and more and more people with these diseases will be in your hospital. You should really inservice your staff so they can be prepared for what's to come and emphasize that you should not treat those with Alzheimer's like they are a burden you can't be bothered to deal with.
This whole experience really changed my view of Genesys and has led to us going elsewhere for our emergency care needs.response / report this review -

The people at the front desk for er like to judge people and make them feel very low about themselves. I was in earlier today for trouble breathing and was told to come back if it gets worse, so I did and the people at the desk told me there was nothing wrong with me. I got so upset that I turned around and walked right out the door.

Overall Great Experience. I love the nurses and the team of doctors that took care of me while i was a patient there for two weeks. would have given 5 stars, but my wait in Emergency was quite long considering my life threatening condition (I was feeling the life leave my body while sitting in the wheelchair in Emergency's waiting room, and their were many of people that had came in after me, seen and admitted before I was.) But over all I thank God for the the staff and team of doctors that saved my life and helped to council me during this rough time of my life. I have a long recovery ahead, and I'm doing well right now, Thanks to the staff of SICU and the nursing staff of the 2nd floor.

This by far has become my number 1 hospital that I would not recommend pregnant women to go to. I'm almost 38 weeks and my baby has been trying to come for 6 weeks now and all they do is fill me up with fluids that has raised my blood pressure up countless times and give me pills and send me home. I've been told by different doctors that my baby is fine to come and has been fine to come and that he is very developed for his time. They just don't want to help you be at ease and allow your baby to come even if he/she is ready simply because their policy is they don't believe in allowing the baby to come until after 39 weeks! Terrible! No pregnant women should have to continue to be in pain because doctors and nurses don't want to do their job. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone. Sucks the end of my pregnancy has to be this way. Plan to deliver somewhere else if it's the last thing I do!

I spent almost a week in the hospital and found the care to be outstanding. I was driven to emergency by my husband and admitted immediately. The nurses and doctors who cared for me were excellent. The third morning I woke up very ill and hit the nurses button. They came in immediately and then summoned a cardiac team because my vital signs were going crazy. I was terrified, but the staff was so efficient and upbeat and they had me moved into the cardiac intensive floor very quickly. My overall care was excellent, the doctors and nurses were angels and they managed my pain so very very well. I will use these facilities again and am grateful they are so near me.
