I can count on WM to provide good service
In comparison to Total Waste, Waste Management has been professional, on time, and reliable. So far, we are very pleased.
Not very reliable, frequently mix trash pickup sometimes dumpster pickup will be skipped for up to 2 weeks. Don't bother calling customer service to figure out what's going on. They promise to figure it out and call you back but they never call you back
This company is difficult to work with. They try and charge for every little thing. They dont pick up trash when they say they will. They come when they want. They also dont maintain the cans/containers they charge too much for. Use a smaller company if possible.
I wish I could leave less than one star!
We contracted WM for trash removal for our glass shop. We stated that we had a certain day that we needed to be emptied and of course what was in the dumpster (a lot of glass, duh)
They were a day late dropping off the new dumpster, and because of a simple miscommunication (I'll take some blame for that one) it was the wrong type of dumpster (they call them cans) It took four days to get it swapped for the correct type of can.
Over the next 5 weeks, we had only a SINGLE trash removal, even though we were contracted to be emptied once a week. One day they said we didn't put it outside (we NEVER put it outside, in the city there is no place to put it without blocking a street or sidewalk), the next time we're not open, then the road was blocked for a festival (not true), you get the point. The final straw was that when we were told that they were on their way (after dozens of calls and emails) we put some trash outside to speed up the process, we got a $150 fine from the city for "dumping"!
We then got a letter firing US as clients, because they felt it was too dangerous to empty our trash. What? We have been in business for almost 117 years, and I can not think of a single instance where our trash men were injured. We didn't hide that we were a glass company or that most of our refuse would be GLASS!
At this point we were happy to find another company -- J.W. Clark is a family owned Baltimore business just like us and were happy to help!
It then took WM over a week to remove their can from our building, only after we stated that Clark was delivering their can and we would be leaving WM's can outside did they show up. Then guess what? They showed up with the wrong truck - it needed to be emptied BEFORE it was picked up. It was almost funny how moronic this company looked.
Worst company ever! Sloppy, unprofessional and arrogant. I am now fighting their bill, since we only had one pick up in five weeks and had to pay the city a fine because of their failure to honor our contract! They also now are claiming that the pickups they made were over weight. Well, first of all, they only picked up once, secondly, there is no record of any notices, mentions or charges for overages. So we can add LIARS to the distinguished list.
RUN, RUN AWAY!!!
