Great little store. Normally does tastings ( not this year) very helpful in finding what you want
Friendly service and a diverse selection of wine, beer, and liquor — ask John for recommendations and you can’t go wrong! And if you literally/physically can’t go, they also offer delivery service in the local area.
Need more dark choices, Negra Modelo if Shiner Bock is not available.
Great wine and Bourbon selection. And the people who work here, often the owner, are very knowledgeable. They are always willing to walk customers around and make recommendations. They never make people feel foolish, no matter how little a person may know about wine.
The people are knowledgeable about what kind of wine to suggest based on your preferences. I love the local and international selection
Alittle hard to find, but once found you have a very nice selection of wines. Helpful staff.
Great Bourbon tasting, lots of info on the product! Very nice time!
Small shop with a big selection of wines, beers and spirits. The usuals with a nice mix of the unusual. Prices are what one would expect from a small, non chain neighborhood shop. Convenient location for me with most (not all) staff members being knowledgeable with useful tips or wine pairings.
Enjoyed the wine tasting although I didn't find a red that I like. I just wish that the tastings were a little less expensive.
Owner knowledgeable and happy to discuss and educate customers on aspects of different wines. Works with Fond restaurant for wine pairings which have always been spot on.
Very knowledgeable staff and a very attractive store. They had an interesting selection of meats and cheeses to go along with their wide wine selection. I highly recommend giving this store a shot.
Great staff. Knowledgeable and fun. Good selection in a small space and very convenient.
Great service and John is great to do business with. I couldn't find my favorite wine in the Louisville area. Wine Rack is always willing to special order it and priced better then other wine shops in the local area.
Hands down the best shop in Louisville for Whiskey and Wine. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating, and prices are always fair. It's so much better to give your business to a locally owned shop, than to big box liquor stores who have no personal connection with their customers. Shop local, y'all!
proprietor John Johnson & staff are friendly, knowledgeable, & remember your name & your preferences - simply amazing now-a-days
Great selection and super friendly staff. I'm happy to say I've found a place to buy wine for be next four years while I'm stationed here.
What a gem on The Avenue! I've lived in Crescent Hill and surrounding area most of my life and I love the village-like feel. The Wine Rack adds such value and charm to this Avenue and the well thought out selection serves the community perfectly. I can essentially do a one-stop shop for wine, apps, dinner, bread, dessert, and a little something to sip après dinner! The wine, bourbon, and beer collection in particular are wonderful and John makes it a point to strive for a small footprint when selecting his inventory, when possible. There are multiple very boutique brands made within miles of his shop he offers in his store. This is why I shop at the Wine Rack! (Tip from a seasoned customer: get on his mailing list and brace yourself for delicious wine tastings throughout the year.)

John knows how to make buying a nice bottle of anything an experience instead of a transaction. His selection, space, location and atmosphere are inimitable!
He is the type of owner who knows you by name within a couple of visits and will make recommendations regularly. Support local.! This place is the best!!
An owner of a business that is a wine shop should at the very least hold some knowledge of Italian distributors.
An owner of any business that serves the public should be more open minded with their potential patrons.
It was my first (and most likely my last) time at this place.
While the man who first served me seem to be somewhat knowledgeable the owner was extremely short and lacking any effort to genuinely try to order the product I was seeking.
I suggest the Wine Market on Bardstown road. They are more helpful, courteous and knowledgeable.
