I called circuit clerk to get info on a tix I received and when I got someone to answer she wasn't friendly, helpful or informative. Amanda was her name and she thought with me asking what to do in the case of a missed court date was giving me legal advice?! Not the friendliest person to work with the public. Luckily, Jackie, the supervisor spoke with me for 3 mins and solved everything I needed done and without going into the courthouse. Thank you Jackie, wish I court rate you separately ***** 5 stars!!

This courthouse was one of the biggest reasons I left Will county years ago, and never care to go back! They treat everyone like they're all criminals, very rude, never anywhere to park, overcrowded always. Last time I was there was a complete joke! I lost custody of my daughter whom I had custody of her entire life up until 13 yrs old when she was taken, due to the fact that her low life father and his nasty, selfish wife wanted custody at the time because they thought they would save money on child support and they needed a free babysitter for they're son! (Him and his wife always tried to make me feel guilty for collecting child support and would say how it wasnt "fair", when he hardly even saw his daughter up until.) I was then accused of "abusing" her by them while they brainwashed my daughter! Their only "proof" in court was BLANK police reports, which appointed attorney, Krystel Gavlin, showed the judge. (My ex kept calling police on me at that time for not having her call him!) Ms Gavlin also lied to the judge about how I hit my daughter! I even had a report from DCFS whom had been to my house as a result of all that which stated result of "unfounded"/no abuse found after they're investigation.. that should have been enough, but apparently meant nothing to that judge. The simple fact with Ms. Gavlin was that he paid her his "half" of the money we were told to pay her. (I didn't because I knew it was pointless for us going to court in first place for that and knew they had no reason to take her) The judge believed everything Ms. Gavlin told her, and when I tried to explain what really happened, that judge yelled at me and threatened to hold me in contempt!
After 2 years of my daughter being mentally abused by her Fathers wife (she would call her "b" names; my daughter had to wear her Fathers old coat she found in their basement in winter because she took her coat and her clothes; she was in an attic with no heat to sleep; she was forced to walk to school in freezing winter; forced to call her "step mom" MOM, ECT.) They asked me to take her back.. She was 15, very angry, depressed, and it was very difficult, we then struggled to get along.
This courthouse isn't always on the Mothers side, they're on side of whomever the money comes from, even when children's well beings are at stake! .. They clearly do not care!response / report this review -

And it be even less. What a joke. Still operating in the fifties with that F you attitude. Old Chicago hack politics. Look at Drew Peterson..Where did he go? Will County. Oops She slipped in the tub They probably got a a steak and cheese combo from across the street to bury it.I should've want went the Meat bal 6in meatball marinara since it was only a divorce

Judges are definitely one sided. Always in favor of the mother. They do not even give the fathers a chance to speak let alone their lawyers. Even with proof of hurtful intent on a child they still do not care to hear it. It's ridiculous. If your a father in Will County going for something as simple as visitation for your children just give up now. This courthouse does not put the best interest of the children in mind. Their only worry is how fast they can end it or remove it. Kids will suffer from the judges on this bench. If you plan to move here then don't ever plan to get divorced with children in the mix. Disgusting.

I am thankful for the librarian who was willing to help and directed me to the resources I needed.
I understand, now, that if you know what you want and ask them about what you need to get it done, they will be able to help.
They never give me a legal advice, but they direct me to the needed resources.response / report this review
