We had a really excellent time on our tour. Our guide, Wiley, was excellent. He knew all the back roads where horses may be grazing or hanging out, so we really got to see so many horses. Also just riding on the dunes in the hummer was really fun. My fair skin was also super grateful that the hummer was covered (while still be open air). Would definitely recommend!

Excellent tour! Staff was courteous. Our guide Mr. Marshall was awesome! He was very informative and entertaining. We saw many horses and the ride itself was fun. Our family enjoyed every aspect of the tour. My friend lost his hat during the ride. Marshall stopped on the way back and picked the hat up for him. I highly recommend the tour and Mr. Marshall as the tour guide.

Great way to spend an afternoon. Our tour guide knew exactly where to take us to see so many wild horses. The surf, dunes and wild lowlands are explored during a moderately paced two hour excursion. Ask for "The Outlaw" as your tour guide: passionate, committed and a wealth of fun and educational facts about the history, environment and wildlife of the Outer Banks and surrounding area. PS: You'll get some great pictures!

We came to OBX as hurricane Maria was passing the outer banks. We were thrilled when we called yesterday to get a reservation today!! We toured with Patrick. He was AMAZING! Very knowledgeable and passionate about his role in contributing to the preservation of these wild horses. I couldn't imagine doing the tour with anyone else. Patrick, you are the BOMB!! We can't wait to come again.

Ask for guide, Tom Baker "The Outlaw"
Knowledge unmatched about Outer Banks Then & Now, we saw 8 horses on this tour (retreating to wetlands due to Irma), and as many as 20 on other annual tours. Tom is friendly and fun! Great experience for our friends who were experiencing it for the first time. The offices and bathrooms are clean, organized and professionally managed.
    Five stars all around!!!

We have been vacationing on the northern Outer Banks for decades and have frequented the off road area with our own vehicle. This trip we had friends with us who had never been to the Outer Banks and decided to take a tour with Wild Horse Adventures so that our entire party (11 people) could enjoy the trip. We were not disappointed. Will Smith (our tour guide and driver) handled the Hummer H1 with aplomb, and was able to answer any question we threw at him. He has obviously done his HW. Thanks Will for a really enjoyable time and for helping us make some great memories. We would definitely recommend Wild Horse Adventures to anyone considering a tour to the off road area of the northern beaches.

Great tour, we saw so many horses. Our guide was knowledgable about the history of the horses and also about the area. Riding in the open sided truck was great on a hot day. The company is really into keeping their carbon footprint low, which I liked. They had a place to fill reusable water bottles with filtered ice and water. They also had small coolers we could borrow to keep non-insulated bottles cool. They use their money to buy land for the horses to roam. I would definitely do a horse tour through this company again.

Our tour guide Charles was very friendly & knowledgeable about the horses & the area. The drive along the beach was amazing! The horses were beautiful as well. We enjoyed looking for the horses in the dunes & houses. One horse stopped right in the middle of the road and we were able to get fantastic pictures & see the horse up close. We loved hearing the company has bought property to prevent development & preserve the habitat for the horses.

Excellent tour! We were able to find about 11 horses. Our tour guide, Ryan, was fun and knowledgeable. It also felt good that a portion of the ticket prices goes to buy protected land for the animals that won't be developed. The waiting area for the tour was also a great space to relax in the A/C while waiting for your tour. I highly recommend this company for your wild horse tour!

We were visiting the last week of September when unfortunately, the week before, flooding had happened and we were unable to drive back in the dunes/around the houses to look for horses. There was no money-back guarantee for this reason but we were still hoping to see horses. We had no luck but it was still a nice ride. Andrew was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and nice. Everyone was nice, from the phone call to book the tour, to arrival and check in and through the tour. Will be back next time for sure!

Kasey P was a fabulous tour guide - we were able to see two groups of horses; she was very knowledgeable and obviously loves her job. She made the tour interesting, fun, exciting and well worth every penny. Highly, highly recommend!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Ryan! He was knowledgeable about the horses, their patterns history, and was an excellent host. He knew where to look for horses and we found them!! The hummers are a really cool ride and easily fit car seats with room to spare! We loved our tour and would come back the next time we're in the area.

The Hummer they take you out on is really cool. After we got on the 4x4 beach, we stopped and got to see the stallion with the biggest family come right onto the beach right past us. Driving around looking for the horses was cool to as we got to see so much of the island on all of the sand roads. Our guide Casey was very knowledgeable of the history behind the horses and offered to take a beautiful panorama with our phones as the sun was setting.

We really enjoyed our tour with Ryan! He was friendly and knowledgable about local history. He knew the right spots to visit to find the horsesand we saw a ton! We saw several harems, including a mama and her foal, and Jack strolling along in the shallow waters on the beach. The highlight for us was learning that Wild Horse Adventure Tours purchased land in order to conserve the natural spaces of the Outer Banks. Knowing that they are passionate about conservation let us know that we had booked with the right company. Thanks for an awesome morning!
