I like the place. I've been in three times had decent service.
The first two times was for a late lunch and a dinner. Everything was excellent, no issues whatsoever.
The last time was a Saturday morning for breakfast. I went downtown for the market and walked across to White Rose for breakfast. It was around 930 or so and they were not seating people to let the two servers get caught up. This is a dangerous habit for a business to get into. A lot of people left, worth calling ahead if you're doing a Saturday morning group thing.
Breakfast was good. A solid omelet with nice breakfast potatoes. A little surprised that the toast was a single slice. We dine out a lot, I don't think I have ever seen a single slice of toast with the breakfast. That struck me as odd.
Food was good, I'm sure I'll return. I rarely meet up as part of a large group, but if that was a factor, I'd absolutely call ahead.
Great atmosphere. Good happy hour specials and the food is great. Good beer selection.
Depending on the vegetable of the day, I order the NY steak strip with mashed potatoes and an order of steam shrimp. The nachos are really good too. The lava cakes are awesome.
The place is just about average. The waiter recommended we get a crab dip saying that it’s their signature appetizer, however, just like mentioned before, it was nothing special + too salty. Seared tuna was okay. The desserts were just okay. “Happy hour drink at the bar only” policy sounds ridiculous.
The drink and the waiter were nice. Although he was trying too hard to sell us food. He made me feel awkward. It might be a good place to go grab a drink, not go for a lunch or quick bite.
Service wasn’t very good. Waited 15 minutes for water even after I told the server I needed water for my supplements. Food was excellent! Amazing ambiance.
A bit loud inside- this was a "catching up" lunch, so I wanted to be able to hear my guest. Happily the weather was nice and they sat us outside. Food was great and the service was good. Highly recommend!
Went for half price burgers on Monday night. Had the Boss burger. Was most insane burger ever. 2 1/2lb burgers you can top with any burger toppings, had 1 topped with crab dip and cheddar, the other with pulled pork and cheese sauce.
Waitress 🙂 Kayla was on point. Excellent service & a memorable meal. Can't say that about burgers very often!
TERRIBLE SERVICE. Don't even bother coming here for happy hour. I'll pay the extra few dollars to get a good quality drink from Holy Hound. My friends and I paid for our drinks then sat at one of 15 open tables, but the server came around to kick us out because we only paid for happy hour drinks. I was going to buy dinner there, but he didn't even give us a chance to mention that. We were seated by the hostess, but the server kicked us out because we had drinks from the bar. We even said to the server that happy hour was over and that we were going to still order more drinks (not on happy hour) and get a meal. I'm from Los Angeles and this place tries so hard to be cool and edgy but its not. Its a dump, with bad service and honestly the food is terrible too. I heard their crab pretzel was good so I tried it, but it was just cheese pretzel with a lot of moosh. The servers are snotty and there is no point for them to be, this is not a five star New York City restaurant. So get your noses out of the clouds and just be a little more friendly.
Easy to sit and enjoy the area and the people. Staff is great and helpful. Environment is friendly and fun! Top it off with great food and there's no reason to not have a great time! Cheers!
This place is tops with us. Never disappointing. Great atmosphere, fantastic food. Almost better than the car show we go up for
The food was great, I had Pork BBQ in wheat bread , it was the juiciest pork sub I've ever had. There are many other good food choices too. The view facing the street is great. If you don't want to see the street, you can sit inside in the Philly Dining area, which has these cool drawings of different places in York attached to the walls. The waitress was quite warm and we got our food without much waiting. A nice place overall
Always a happening placegreat cream of crab soup and crab cakes, multiple bars and seating areas. They have happy hour daily 4:30-6:30pm, all drinks half off and many appetizers also. They also has a cigar bar.
This place left a very good first impression on me. Myself and some friends ate here on a gamble since we were from out-of-town. We were app pleased with our meals. The onion soup was particularly tasty as was the Rachel (a twist on a classic Reuben with turkey instead of corned beef). There service was also notable. Our drinks were never empty and our waitress was polite. There are plenty of parking options nearby as well with dedicated spots for patrons of the White Rose.
