Trustworthy shop. Parts can cost more than you're used to, because they always try to use factory parts or equivalents rather than whatever aftermarket parts they can find. Steve basically saved my car from the scrapyard and has always been straightforward with me about any repairs I've needed (or not needed) since.

Very Bad experience. Manager told, diagnostic test for Check Engine related to tranmission free of cost. But charged 145 dollars. I would recommend Maxx Transmission or go to the respective dealer

On 6/12, I Called WT For An Auto Trans Replacement. I Asked If It Could Be Done That Day And WT Said Yes And Told Me To Bring It In. WT Closed Shop That Day Without Finishing The Job. I Never Received A Phone Call Saying So, Nor Did WT Provide Me With A Loaner Rental Car As Clearly Stated On Their Website. On 6/13, WT Called And Only Said That My Car Was Ready, No Mention Of Additional Services/Costs. When I Went Into WT, They Said That My Car Was Four Quarts Low On Engine Oil (Just Had An Oil Change A Month Ago So This Is An Obvious Lie. And 4 Quarts Low Means 100% Empty, Which My Car Showed No Signs Of) and That It Was Over $100 Additional. It's Required That Auto Shops Obtain Approval From Customers Before Performing Additional Services, WT Did Not Do That Despite Having Ample Opportunity To. A Physical Altercation Ensued When The Mr. Hardass Cashier (Steven Rios) Refused To Honor The Originally Quoted Price. After The Employee Who Quoted Me Arrived (Jack Debasc), Who Did Not Help Diffuse The Situation By Walking In And Yelling After Everyone Had Already Calmed Down, WT Eventually Agreed To The Originally Quoted Price. However, Now They Wanted Me To Pay With Cash (Over $1000) So That I Wouldn't Be Able To Dispute The Charge (Which Is Totally Self-Incriminating And Just An Outright Extremely Unprofessional Thing To Do To A Customer When That Customer Had Called You Out For Attempting To Commit Auto Repair Fraud Against Them.) WT Lost All Credibility And Respect From Me. The Actual Service Seems Good After One Day Of Test Driving, But Their Incredibly Rude Behavior And Fraudulent Actions Eclipse The Service Quality and Is Unacceptable. Avoid Them At All Costs, They Do Not Follow Procedure And Use Fraudulent Practices.

I had this company rebuild my transmission and torque converter in July 0f 2014 on my 1993 G-30 Chevrolet van. It cost me over $2,900 and was given a 24 month or 24K warranty (which ever came first) for the work. I live out of state and travel frequently out of state in the van and had only used it sparingly while storing it for several months of the year in a covered storage facility. I had only 10,400 miles on the van when the van's transmission failed again. I was asked by Westside Transmission to have the van towed to them to verify that the transmission was faulty. Unfortunately I was unable to have it towed 150 miles back to them from outside the Bakersfield, CA area since the cost of this would have been excessive. I had it towed to Tehachapi Transmission shop in Tehachapi, CA for an estimate where they discovered the work Westside Transmission's rebuild was poorly done and in fact two bolts within the transmission were not torqued down and came loose causing extensive internal damage due to blocking the flow of transmission fluid and overheating to the transmission. I offered Westside Transmission photos and to discuss the matter with the other Tehachapi Transmission mechanic who assessed the damage but they declined. Westside Transmission offered to rebuild my van's transmission again for $2,700 by discounting it $200 for me. I opted not to since it was their negligence that caused it to break down again with so little miles since they rebuilt it. I asked them to reconsider a larger discount since it had only 10,400 miles since they rebuilt it but they declined citing the warranty had expired. I would recommend anyone needing rebuilt transmission work to use another company or a nationwide service vendor since Westside Transmission will not honor their faulty work even though I told them originally I was moving the work van across the country to Florida and if I experienced a problem I would be able to get it repaired during the warranty in another state. They told me, yes they would honor their work outside the area by a certified transmission mechanic. Obviously they were not willing to do this by insisting to have it towed to them and not giving more than a $200 discount for their work that should have been done right the first time.

Great auto shop! They did an great job on repairing my brakes (pads and rotors) and making sure my brake fluid was filled. Highly recommend this auto shop for all your needs. I will be coming back in the future.

Westside Transmission repaired my transmission where another business failed. I have now returned to have my brakes fixed. I find Westside Transmission staff to be professional and courteous and they have performed just as they have promised. A special thanks to Edgar Zaldivar who has been a big help with managing the work on my car. He is always friendly and professional.
