Great place to find unique handmade items such as serving boards and spoons, jewelry, prints, pottery, etc. They have open studios the 1st Saturday of every month, perfect time to walk around and check everything out!

This is a great place to find a unique, hand created, gift. And why not stop at Navigation Brewery and try one of their brews, too!

Hundreds of amazing artists' studios in one great place. Every media and style you can think of. Their monthly Open Studios (first Saturday, plus additional holiday events) should not be missed, with the artists and crafters welcoming in the public to share their work. A great place for unique homemade gifts too!

Hats off to all the wonderful artist here. However years ago after closing a store in the city I filled out an application for a studio. I was snubbed, blown off, while others were accepted. No problem, I moved on. However recently I suggested a talented artist to get a studio. She said she applied a while back and was put on a list.. then she realized others were getting studios and she was never called. When questioning her app.. there was always an excuse WHY..She had a good friend fill out an identical application and she was called promptly..So why had she been waiting months. Her feeling are so hurt she NO longer goes there, as she was a faithful follower. Well this hit home to me since I had similar happen. There should be a better process for choosing who gets studios. A waiting list is a waiting list and everyone should be given a chance.. Not pick and choose, disqualifying people based on who's decision? Very sad. As she says "Why would you want a studio with people who don't like you anyway!". . Sad anyone should be left to feel this way! Terrible loss for Western Ave Studio since my friend is a gifted talented artist in several different aspects, and has been a huge contributor to the Great Lowell Community! Maybe all the wonderful talented artist whom are blown off by Western Ave should start there own non predjudice studio where everyone is given a chance!

There is always something interesting going on here. With more than 300 artists living, working and creating in all kinds of media. Open studios are the first Saturday of every month where you can meet many of the artists in their studios. The Loading Dock Gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday with representative works from many of the artists for sale. Around the holiday you can count on the studios being open Saturday and Sunday, with free parking. A new addition is Navigation Brewery with craft beer made on site. Another special treat are the occasional shows put on by the Miracle Providers. Adjacent to Western Ave Studios are the Lofts where artists live and work. Great place to find something special and unique.

Western Avenue Studios is a one-stop shopping art extravaganza. So much to see during Open Studios on the first Saturday of every month with such diversity amongst the 300 studios. Get there early so you can try to see it all! Free parking and the opportunity to purchase a memorial art treasure.
