I've always enjoyed their pizza. This is usually a lots of cheese type pizza! Of course the atmosphere is unique. If you are visiting to the area it is worth going there for that. Say hi to Virgil if you drop in.

I frequent Mine Co a lot. Their Italian fries are amazing. Humongous portions, though. Would strongly recommend splitting an entree. Pricing is pretty good considering how much food you get, and the quality is there also.

Really good upscale bar food, and solid drinks. Only visited for dinner, but the drinks were mixed strong and well. The menu is pretty diverse if you aren't vegan, and what I had was quite good (BLT) as was the burger the other diner I was with had. The onion rings were exceptional. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. I will probably come back next time I'm in town and hanker for a great greasy meal. The mine ambiance is a nice touch, as is the mining equipment outside, as I'm fond of old machinery.

I'm giving the Mine Company 3 stars because it offered nothing for vegetarians. The ambiance was super cool. The hostess was pleasant. Our waitress was pretty good. We had to wait a little bit for refills. I don't understand why there weren't refills on Root Beer. And since they tell you every soft drink they offer they should mention there are free refills on everything but the root beer. There menu has a lot of items but nothing for me a vegetarian. I ordered a Reuben with no meat. How hard can it be to have some frozen veggie patties in the freezer? My son wanted to sub his fries for a side salad and she said it would be $3.50 more. That's ridiculous.

Called ahead to get on table list. Still had to wait on site for 30 mins. Many others, who didn't call ahead, were seated ahead of us. One group of 8 was told they'd have a 45 minute wait, then were seated within minutes Server was good, but 1 of our 3 entrees were cold, like maybe room temp, cold.

    Great theme and atmosphere, though!

Our pizza was perfect. We had a Deluxe consisting of Italian sausage, Pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Ripe olives and fresh mushrooms. It was my birthday and I was treated to a Bloody Mary with olives and as crispy pickle spear with a beer chaser plus a fantastic individual bundt cake. Our son's birthday is today and he also received an individual bundt cake. We are always well pleased with our choice of menu items and return again and again. Lunch was excellent as usual!!

Its been a while since we have been to Wausau Mine company and it will be even longer before I go back.
They were out of Ginger Beer and this was 5:00 on a Saturday. They don't have real gyro meat for their gyro sandwich's. The cheese fries had no flavor and the pizza crust tasted stale. I had a Philly Steak Sandwich that was mostly bread and grease. The flavor was good. Oh and to top it off our beer was not very cold my husband didn't even order a second so you know something was wrong.
Our last experience their was a year or so ago and that was on a Monday for the pizza special and that was not very good.

I was really excited to try this place based on positive reviews. The interior & exterior are very unusual, but the dining experience was average at best. I tried call-ahead seating & felt like I had inconvenienced the staff when I called; the hostess was very short with me and didn't even ask my name. We were seated immediately upon arrival as they were not busy, however. Our table was very near the entrance and with 3 kids in our party, we later wished we had been seated out of the main pathways. It took a while for a server to greet us and take our drink order. Food was served promptly but we barely saw our waitress after that. Hard to get a refill on drinks. The kids menu was one black&white sheet of paper with a couple activities; nothing fancy. My husband's burger was over cooked and my pasta was bland. Kids' chicken tenders looked like something from a bag (they were triangular, did not seem to be freshly prepared). Garlic bread was good. We were excited to try cheese curds as a local novelty but found them to be basically mozzerella sticks.
Overall, food was average or less and the experience was a poor value. Would not recommend and would not identify as "family-friendly."

This place is very cool aesthetically! The servers were pleasant and service was prompt. The food was fantastic, not to mention affordable. Kids meals were under $4impressive! Definitely going back here again!

I like it a lot. Love the aesthetics of the restaurant! Pizza fries were missing some garlic and thus were a tad bland. The lettuce in my salad looked a bit old, but tasted fine. I ordered the blackened salmon which was rather lovely, tho was too hot for my liking. Tho that isn't the restaurant's fault. Lovely baked potato which was loaded. Loved the sweet potato fries. Didn't get to touch a dessert, but the pictures looked great, tho no prices next to them so the dessert menu looked unfinished. All in all, great place to eat, just needs a bit more seasoning on the pizza fries and prices on the dessert menu. Will be going back, perhaps for a fish fry. I'm excited to try the potato salad!

The decor is absolutely fantastic! Step inside the gold mine for some great food and drinks. The burgers are 1/2# monsters with delicious toppings that include a variety of wisconsin cheeses. Other menu choices include pizza, pasta and steaks.

Wonderful! Ordered 30 pounds of the shredded chicken for a graduation party this weekend and it was fabulous! Everyone loved it. Chef Chet was great to work with. I highly recommend and will definitely order again! Thank you Chef Chet and Wausau Mine Co!

A lot of the food is very average at best. I ordered the southwest BBQ turkey melt that was advertised as coming with roasted turkey, melted cheddar, and drizzled with sauce. The "roasted" turkey was four slices of cheap, thin turkey lunch meat, the cheddar was barely melted, and it was smothered in BBQ sauce (an effort to make up for the bad quality meat?) Having said that, the onion rings were very good and the atmosphere is fun for tourists and families. I'm from the area and have eaten at Wausau Mine numerous times over the years, but my last few experiences have been really disappointing.
