Terrible experience at Pelltiers. My husband and I got there early for the fish boil per our reservation. We waited in a line for 20 minutes to try to get drinks and a instruction of where to go, no staff ever explained anything, we did not get drinks. Several people behind us were yelled at by staff to close the door even though the line was going out the door. We ended up leaving, no customer service, no fish boil. The next year we decided to back for just a drink at the bar on what was a slower night, we sat down and at least 5 staff members walked right by us and never asked if we would like anything. We attempted to flag a few down, but again we ended up leaving.
I kind of thought all of Door County was a little touristy—there's so much similarly beautiful and unique scenery throughout Wisconsin—and this place certainly was crowded, but it was totally worth it. Make sure you're going at the right time so you can watch the fish boil. Very cool, one-of-a-kind tradition and the food tasted great. Be sure to ask the waiter how to eat the fish if you are a city slicker like me who never had to deal with fish bones before. Anyway, great experience, great staff, pie included, what more could you ask for?
Awesome experience!!! Fish boil!!! Even if you don't like fish it's awesome to come watch the boil being made. Food was great, service was good. Definitely a destination stop. Will be back again and would recommend!
Negatives all around. Treatment on phone from hostess was rude, upon arriving she was sarcastic and unfriendly and acted as if we were uninvited guests. 3. Food was cool. All servers were more interested in packer game and talking amongst themselves. 2 servers sat down and ate a bowl of macaroni/cheese while we were still waiting for service. Cherry pie tasted like right outta the can.
We arrived just as they were running the bell for the boil over so we got to watchvery cool. Then we went in and bought our tickets for the next fish boil dinner. The boil over is every half hour here, so after you buy your ticket and get your beverage you go out and watch the show. The owner explains the process as he does it and encourages questions, it's actually a better experience the more questions that are asked. Then after your boil over you go find a table and they bring your plate out to you. Food was great, cooked correctly and tasty. Oh and the hostess was friendly or at least ours was and it seemed she has been working there for some time. I would recommend this fish boil
Where do I begin with this place. First and foremost, the hostess. She is beyond rude. Last year and again this year she gave us attitude. You would think this restaurant would like to get business. Two, how does a place not host a big party?! Or even try to.
We will refuse to call them again. Thanks for nothing hostess. You should get some hostess etiquette or just quit.
It's great, it is our favorite fish boil in all of door county. The fish is always done well and the onions and potatoes are delicious. The free inclusions like the free soda with refills and the cherry pie make this fish boil a cut above the rest. Loved it!
Edit: Came here again. Coffee was watery, fish too salty and potatoes and onions were undercooked. The waiter hardly came to ask anything as if they were understaffed. Not good. Hope it improves or else we may not come again.
Watch your fish boil and then eat that super fresh food. Use all the butter they put on your plate. Drink a glass of soda and then gets lots of free refills. Do all this and I think you will be happy, at least for awhile. Then you may contemplate stuff on the way home and get bummed again, but maybe not. Maybe fish boils and free refills will change your outlook on life forever.
Food was tasty and the classic fish boil meal was reasonably priced since it includes drinks and dessert. I wasn't impressed with the service though, and the fun presentation of the boil over was a dulled a bit because the presenter seemed disinterested. Still, it was fun to experience and we had a good time with family.
We made reservations for Saturday 7/08/17. Drove 2 hours only to be received by a rude, and condescending hostess, much like what others said on their review. For 19 dollars I expected more food. What we got were 2 bland red potatoes, 2 small baby onions, 2 small pieces of fish primarily filled with bones and had no flavor at all, 2 slices of bread with hard pats of butter, coleslaw and a small slice of cherry pie. No side dish of butter, except what was under the fish. The coleslaw, onions and cherry pie were the highlight of the meal. Sitting outside watching the boil was the best part of the experience. Get rid of the rude hostess, increase portion size, add some flavor then maybe I would think about going back a second time. For what we got I could have bought a whole cherry pie and been more satisfied.
My wife and I ate here last night. 7/7/17 It was very very good! I have read some negative reviews? I have not had a bad experience here ever! I don't know why the rating is so low? The boil master (who is the owner ) was very informative and friendly his father and my wife's father grew up together in Bailey's Harbor! His wife was very friendly also! The food, staff and service were Awesome! They have been featured on the food network! And are going to be featured on there again next week! A+++!!😁
