I'm very very upset and disappointed with this medical center. The dermatology clinic keeps pushing my appointments back to 2 or 3 months. It takes months and months just to be seen by a doctor, and then they send you to a choice program doctor who doesn't really care as long as you show up. They really have to do better. Nobody should have to be told that they can't see a doctor because the doctor of a certain clinic is taking a leave of absence for 2-3 months. It's a crying shame.

Can't give a bad review because of 1 doctor. So far they have been helpful but i now have a bad taste for this facility. Everyone has their bad days, but as a provider you shouldn't being that to work.

I am currently work at a medical office. I was trying to communicate with them to assist in the treatment of a mutual patients. The staff there is horrible. They could not complete a simple task. I am very disappointed by this. They need to get it together.

My experience at the VA has been great. I've seen many specialists and had to use the DR several times. Yes, it can seem a little slow.but the people are very kind. A quick trip to any other major medical center will remind you how good it is here! However being hospitalized here was substandard, depending who was working. Some of the nurses really have it together and some obviously feel their patients bother them from something more important.
    Big note about 1 dr:
If I could give Dr Abella 0 stars I would. She was the hospitilist while I was at the VA. She withheld food and drink from me for 5 days while saying she was going to have a test run. When my family asked for her to abide by my wishes or they would transfer me, she said "don't do this, who would want to live like this?". It is not her right to question if I would want to live and then with hold necessities of life that I am asking for. I still use the VA but if I even see her, I'll run. She almost murdered me.

My father spent the last several months of his life at the VA Liberty Lane Hospice House. He passed away this morning. I would like to publicly express my deepest gratitude for the excellent care he received during his hard-fought battle with cancer. I have never before seen the dignity and compassion with which this nursing staff extends to not only the veterans under their care, but their families as well. I am so grateful for this beautiful facility and the dedicated staff who serve our veterans at Liberty Lane.

I've had good experiences at Hefner. Not all the docs are great, but most are.

Non-medical things like food service and housekeeping seem well managed, but like all government agencies, it's a bureaucracy.

Hefner seems to have improved over the last couple of years, which is hard to do for any government organization.
There are too many rules, too much paperwork, too many inflexible systems and too many politicians screwing with things. And the union makes it hard to get rid of morons.

Younger vets often need specialized care that the private sector can't easily provide. Most older vets need the normal healthcare that 60 plus year olds need, and that might be better done in the private sector. However, if the government is involved, the chickens will start laying square eggs--if they drop any at all. I'm one of the old Vietnam vets.

For me it works 90% of the time. That's about normal for medical care in my limited experience.

The emergency room was horrible. The staff was rude and just didn't care about my fiance at all. The nurse in triage basically told him his pain wasn't that bad. How would she know?! She doesn't deal with the pain everyday. She didn't sacrifice for her country and have to live with permanent damage from it. What can awful person. It was 4 hours before we even got called back and then another 2 hours pass and no doctor. They are supposed to care for our veterans and yet they treat them so poorly when all they want is hepp. This place is the worst and we will never be coming back. I hope this hospital is proud of their incompetent and incredibly rude stafff.

Both I and my husband have stopped using the Salisbury VA. Currently my Husband has been fighting for months to be re assigned a different Primary provider. These people don't care about us. The patient advocates are there to advocate for their co-workers not the patients. We're not free loaders, we earned these benefits. and we both have the disability rating to back it up. Shame on the Salisbury VA. :( Their so dishonest you have to give them at least 1 star in order to post. They haven"t earn it.

Don't go to the E.R. at night. There is a Arabic physician there that is very rude. He did not want to prescribe me anything for my pain. I have been diagnosed with Crohns for 2 years now. The rest of the physicians have been great You will know who he is as soon as he walks in your room and tells you what he does not believe in and what he won't be giving you no matter what your medical history says.. He needs to be in another part of the building where he does not have to deal with patients.. Or he has very little interaction with them!!!!!!
