Mother admitted for surgery and has episode with heart while there. Every doctor, nurse, aide, employee we had contact with were caring, thoroughly professional and took wonderful care of her. Grateful for closeness of facility which made visits convenient. No complaints whatsoever.
Do not. I repeat do not go here if you or your loved one has any serious medical issue going on. You will wait forever and then they will prescribe anabiotic‘s and send you home.
Avoid Rowan memorial/Rowan regional/novant hospital. Had us here at 630am. Checked in 3 different times but asked exact same questions. Waited in pre-op for 45mins. Then waited in endoscopy for 2hrs and counting. Turns out they schedule outpatient sx with doctor who is elsewhere-NO BACKUP?!?! Patient is nervous, thirsty, hungry, alone and doc is helping elsewhere. They didn't even think to come.tell me. Left me waiting over an hour before they told me ahe still hadnt had her 5min procedure. Literally 5 mins! They could hv done many times over but instead our time is wasted and more money spent by insurance company for extra meds. This is whats wrong with our medical system in the US and NC plus Rowan County is especially bad.
Husband was in severe pain from kidney stones. Prompt service at the ER desk, taken back right away, given pain meds quickly. It was during the shift change and we were still treated quickly and kindly. Nurses checked in on him again before leaving for the day. Everyone was very nice and professional. We've been to the Concord hospital and it was horrible. So glad we came to Salisbury tonight.
My husband, who is a pretty tough guy, could not urinate. This is an emergency. It had been going on for hours before he arrived at this emergency room. He spent five hours squalling before they gave him a catheter and sent him home without any instructions. By that time, his bladder released more than double the usual max capacity. This incompetence could have killed him. Makes me so sad.
The service here is terrible. There is never a sense of urgency. Everyone moves at a slow pace as if people aren't sick and need help. I've seen people pass out and everyone still takes their time treating the patients. Worse hospital I've ever been to.
We've had good experiences for the most part. Having lived all over the East coast from NYC to Miami, I can attest to the fact that Rowan is better than a WHOLE lot of them! The day of personalized medicine is over, which is not the fault of the medical personnel.
I have gone there 2times an never again will I go there . I waited in the waiting room for FOUR HOURS just for them to tell me every hour "it'll be only 20mins longer . then when I got to my breaking point after waiting 4.5 hrs I asked yet again an they told me "its gonna be an hour there's more important ppl here". I was the only one in the waiting room tonight . I won't even send a dying rat there .
I was very upset waiting in the ER on a Friday night. Hours with a daughter in severe pain and throwing up. She had been here two weeks prior for surgery and I was very concerned with what could be wrong. It wasn't the first time I was here for hour after hour. However, once we were taken back the staff worked well together and the doctor had her in a room quickly after tests results were in. While waiting for surgery the nurses were awesome. The OR nurses came in and had her ready for surgery in minutes and were so kind to her. I would say that her experience here was so much more than I thought it was going to be. The nurses were on top of everything, kind, encouraging, and so very gentle. The doctors explained everything so thoroughly, they were kind and knowledgeable. It was obvious the doctors were very skilled.
I am a totally, 100%, satisfied patient. This started with a pre-surgery orientation to give me an overview of what to expect. Following the surgery, I was in the orthopedic ward for 3 days and two nights just as they had predicted. During that time, the nursing care was wonderful. The call bell was always answered within a minute and, once they found out what I needed, the appropriate person would show up promptly. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I don't think anyone ever left the room without asking if there was anything else they could do for me. As if that wasn't enough, the food was good. Who ever heard of good food in a hospital? I will likely have to have the other hip replaced at some point and there is no way I'm going to any hospital other than this one.
