I have been to this venue several times over the years and have always had an enjoyable experience. I have seen concerts, live shows, and of course a hockey game. Each time i have found the halls easy to navigate, and the ushers to be helpful in finding your seat. The seats I used all have had unobstructed views. The facility overall is very clean.

On our most recent visit, I learned that they had installed metal detectors just inside the front doors. They keep the security process moving very quickly and it is a small hassle when you consider the benefits. Personally I found it comforting.

If you're looking for close parking, there is a structure right across the street.

High energy! Van Andel Arena is a ginormous arena in beautiful Downtown Grand Rapids. Check-in is fast and safe with their new upgrade to security. Once in the door, everything from concessions to information to restrooms are marked and easy to find. The event staff are polite and super helpful. And provided you need to step away from the event to grab another hotdog, refill your drink, or find a restroom, you'll never miss the action with thanks to the several easy to see displays that are strategically positioned throughout the building, always keeping you up to the minute on the action. I have never had a less than amazing experience here at the high impact home of the Grand Rapids Griffins.

This is a fantastic venue for concerts! I took my daughter to see STEELY DAN (a bittersweet event due to the untimely death of Walter Becker) and we were very happy with the accessible parking, the ease of entering the arena, and most importantly, the quality of our seats. We sat in the lower bowl, section 104 and had an excellent view of the stage, and the sound quality and acoustics were superb for an arena. I would highly recommend any concert at this facility.

View was great! But the floor seats were fold out chairs!! On top of that they were set up so close together I was literally rubbing arms with the person next to me, and my husband had to lean my way not to rub arms with the person next to him. I expected a little more comfort for the $230 spent on tickets. And these chairs did not move!

It's easy to find parking and terrific restaurants near by. This facility is used for sports and music and I've had fun going to both types of events here. I waited way too long for a hugely overpriced glass of wine at my last concert. Still you sort of expect ridiculous prices at these venues. Overall a great experience, but don't imagine you'll get out at a budget price. Bring your wallet and hang on.

The Griffins are a lot of fun. Great place to watch hockey. It's been ages since I've come here for a concert. I'm one of those people who doesn't really listen to the kind of acts this place would book. Prices are comparable to other sports venues.

Hung additional speakers for even better coverage. I heard the sound rig before and it sounded great. Now I can't wait hear it now. With speakers less is not more. People going to the show will truly get there money's worth.

I dont think anyone has ever gone there and decided things were priced great. But with the exception of monster trucks (sort of), i have enjoyed every event i have ever attended there. Only reason i point out the monster trucks is the arena seemed a bit small for the venue.

A place for everyone to find fun. Aisle are numbered well so seating is made easier. If your a smoker your pretty much screwed, tgey need to work on their outdoor smoking section.

This is THE BEST arena in all of minor league sports in my opinion. I've been going to games for about 10 years now and the atmosphere is one of the best. The arena isn't super small but it also isn't way too big for a minor league hockey team. Not a bad seat available and the new upgrades certainly are huge pluses. #GoGRG

A fun night out watching the Griffins play hockey. They lost in the end, but it's always a fun time. They have lots of different food to eat at the concession stands, they do lots of t-shirt throwing and give aways through out the game. Staff is friendly & helpful.

Great place to see a show. Easy entry to the building, clean restrooms, and helpful staff. Parking can be quite a challenge. There are several parking lots that open for events and a large ramp right across the street, however it can take a solid 30 to 45 minutes to get to or into any of them because of all of the traffic congestion. The facility itself always has great staff to help direct you and find your seats. The seats are comfortable and not too tight.

After 20 years, Van Andel Arena has proven to be a major asset in the rebirth and growth of downtown Grand Rapids. The food and beverage options are great. The staff is very helpful from ticket agents to vendors to security. They seem to do a great job with the volunteers as well. There's friendly service everywhere you go and outstanding crowd management. I also feel welcome and safe even when there are large crowds. Great work!
