I called for an appointment early Saturday morning. Unfortunately, all available slots were taken, but the receptionist told me I could bring in my little girl (cat) as a walk-in, though I might have to wait. I arrived around 8:40, prepared to wait for several hours (which would have been fine; I understand how walk-ins work,) but instead I was in a room within ten minutes.

Dr. Sultemeier was very gentle with my little girl, and very knowledgeable on her condition. She needed quite a bit (two antibiotics, a prescription diet, and a sanitary shave), but I was impressed that he didn't try to sell me on anything that wasn't necessary. Honestly, for her condition (constipation and vomiting), he could have tried to get me to do thousands of dollars worth of testing (x-rays, barium series, or sonograms for a foreign body), but instead, he did a rectal exam and diagnosed her with colitis. I know that corporations often encourage this kind of upselling, but the fact that he didn't do so is what's going to keep me coming back as a return client!

It's been a little over 24 hours, and she is back to her usual self! I'm so thankful that Dr. Sultemeier was willing to take us as a walk-in, and that he was so kind and knowledgeable. I have four pets, and we will definitely be returning!

Our family has known Dr. Sultimeyer for many years but only needed his professional services for the past 9. He and his staff are every bit as kind, professional, and knowledgeable as we knew they would be. Last year, he & the staff saw us through putting our precious 15 year old Sabrina out of her misery. Now, this year, they are assisting us with Sabrina's sister. Sammie is almost 16 and she is having many age related illnesses and we know our time with her is limited as well. We're so grateful for Dr. Sultimeyer & the staff. We wouldn't want anyone else to lead us through this most difficult of times as a pet parent. Thank you, Dr. Sultimeyer & staff.

Love! They treat my babies so well. The only place I will bring my birds. The prices are reasonable and the staff is polite. The vet knows animals very well and we never had a problem.

All of my experiences with VCA Lakeside have been great but this Saturday they went above the expected. I unfortunately arrived 15 minutes after closing. However, Tara Stephens saw me through the doors, greeted me and was able to get the prescription I needed for my dog. That saved me a return trip the following Monday and more importantly got my pet's treatment started that much sooner. It's that kind of attitude and service that I truly appreciate. Thanks again!

I couldn't have asked for a better place to take care of my baby when he was sickI know they did everything they could to help him get better!! They will become our forever vets office!! For as long as we have animals. The staff that I delt with had the biggest and warmest hearts, and for that I'm very thankful!!!!

It's so nice to know I can trust that my animals are being taken care of. Being someone who exhaustively researches my animal care, I hate trusting my animals to anyone else. I've argued with vets before over what to feed after they've recommended nutritionally terrible food (think science diet, etc). Lakeside has been a breath of fresh air. The vets are willing to discuss options and answer the questions I can't find good answers to and have been great to my exotic animals. We will start taking the cats here too.
