Whoever “greeted” me at the door while I was experiencing an emergency with my pet was rude. Instead of asking what was wrong or how she could help she pointed out the fact that I had a box. The box is where I kept my sick and at dying pet. She next asks me what’s wrong with my pet. If I knew that I wouldn’t of been there in the first place. Obviously I didn’t know and I didn’t have the means to treat my animal. Maybe this establishment needs to have more compassionate and capable of deductive reasoning veterinarians.

We are so thankful for the doctors and staff at the VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center. They did our French bulldog’s soft palate resection and neutering back in May. My husband and I were so anxious going into the surgery worrying if we made the right decision to have the soft palate surgery. Dr. James and his staff calmed our worries and were so informative and honest with us about the surgery. The surgery and recovery went great and it has made a huge difference on our boy’s breathing. Today, our pup woke up with an extremely swollen eye. As it’s Sunday and our primary care VCA vet is closed I called VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center. We decided it was wise to bring our boy in to get checked out. They got us a treatment plan in place and he is already so much better. He wasn’t the best patient while examining his eye (Sorry Dr. Browne 😞) but they still took great care if him. I would 💯 percent recommend our primary care VCA vet for routine care as well as this clinic for more complicated issues or emergencies!

You feel that they are sincerely interested in the health of your pets. They take the time to thoroughly explain what they've done, what they think, what the issues are and how they are handling them. I've had pets for 50 years, lived in San Francisco where some of the best medical training is and these are the most capable, professional vets I have worked with.

Don’t trust these people. I took my cat there because of a concern with his urination. The doctor and reception staff were fantastic, but the nurse was an absolute disgrace. She claimed my cat was aggressive which has never been the case with him. I understand he was stressed and scared and may have acted out, but she basically said he was attacking her which is a joke. She used that as an excuse as to why she hurt him to the point of significant blood loss. He’s worse off now than when I brought him in. He’s scared, disoriented, and hurt.

When I got home and unwrapped the bandage, I saw THEY HAD LEFT THE CATHETER IN HIS LEG. I honestly can’t believe this level of negligence. I called to ask what to do, and they literally lied to me. Sarah said, “I pulled it out myself.”

This is one of the best and nicest animal hospitals we have ever been to. They take care of every kind of illness in like every kind of animal. Staff are awesome. Doctors were very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. I highly recommend this if you ever have to have your animal looked at.

Our wheaten terrier was recently euthanized here, following evaluation and MRI interpreted by Dr. Cross. FIrst, let me talk about Dr. Cross. He is incredibly kind, gentle, caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, professional, devoted, personable, dedicated, and respectful. In October, our 10-year-old dog was seen on an emergency basis by Dr. Cross following a series of seizures. Dr. Cross suspected a brain tumor, and we elected to have an MRI to comfirm the diagnosis. Our nightmare began when Dr. Cross called that afternoon and gave us his interpretation of the MRI -- a large inoperable forebrain tumor. We treated him with anticonvulsants, steroids, and later pain medication, but the disease progressed rather rapidly. WIthin two months, he was but a shell of the delightful, laid-back, quirky, charming boy he once was. Watching him deteriorate, suffer in pain, and lose his dignity was much too painful for us to endure, and we made an appoinment to have him euthanized. The young woman, Whitney, who did the paperwork was kind, soft-spoken, professional, and quite an asset to this organization. Dr. Cross came into the room and explained the procedure to us, told us what would happen and how the drugs would work. Then we were alone with our dog. As we sat in the room saying good-bye to the best dog we've ever had, we were told to take as much time as we needed. When we summoned Dr. Cross, the procedure was quick and painless for him, but gut-wrenchingly heart breaking for us. Dr. Cross, we learned, had been done for the day FIVE HOURS before our appointment, but he waited for us. We never felt rushed, and, in fact, when I just couldn't look at my dear lifeless boy any longer, Dr. Cross sat with him, and he said he'd stay with him until he was taken to the holding area to be picked up by the crematory. If all the personnel were as dedicated as Whitney and Dr. Cross, this would be the best redommendation I know how to give. However, some of the reception staff could indeed use some lessons in smiling, kindness, and general personality. Or maybe they need to find another job they might enjoy more My interaction with them, though frequent, was cursory, but I can't deny I was most pleasantly surprised when I met Dr. Cross, Whitney, and some of the other staff who seemed to enjoy their jobs and appreciate the stress and concern I had for my dog.

Brought my dog in at 5:30 in the morning they seemed helpful and knowledgeable, diagnosis of Vestibular Disorder gave me anti-nausea meds, a shot for nausea, charged me $400 and sent us home while some of my fur baby's symptoms improved, she was still not goodI took her to her regular vet after a week severe ear infections in both ears I was told at VCA, they checked her ears!! They did not mention antibiotics or even to follow up with the vet!! Extremely disheartened and upset my dog suffered another week of pain!!!

We’ve had to take both of our dogs at different times. The vets go above and beyond to discuss any concerns we had. Excellent care when our dogs were hospitalized. Very loving atmosphere.

We drove about 2.5 hours from Winona Lake, IN to VCA Advanced Veterinary primarily because they had better imaging capabilities than the alternative specialist centers in the area. They are also they only facility in Indiana with neurological veterinary specialists aside from Purdue.

Dr. Cross did a thorough examination of our Boxer, explained his observations and potential causes, and most importantly spent time going through the results of the diagnostic testing performed on site. The vet techs and other staff were also very friendly and helpful!

They are an emergency facility, so they are expensive, but they are sure to give you a quote prior to treatment so you know what to expect. They are great with all the pets I've ever needed to take there. They also have many specialists you can see, and because they are so uniquely qualified they are expensive too. You get what you pay for, great service.

They are very expensive. I can't afford to take my dog there any longer.
Yes, the Dr. was very competent, has been for the last 4 years. Gracie, my dog, who has an eye condition that requires life long medication, has been seeing the Dr for 4 years. Last year I was demoted to receiving social security, and had to pare my expenses as much as possible. Although Gracie still had sufficient Meds, and was doing really well, I was gouged $149.00 for her recheck to get her Rx refilled, because I waited more than a year to bring her in. In the past a recheck was about half, or less than half of that price. I simply could not afford to take her when she was doing so well. I was not neglectful of her condition, I really could not afford unnecessary expenses. Yet, I fell that I was punished or taken advantage of just "because". I will be begging our regular vet to prescribe the necessary medication, even if I have to educate him about the disease, with documentation, and records. Don't want her to suffer because of others greed.

So my dog has something wrong with her throat. We're afraid it's cancer. We can't afford $1200 for an MRI. So we look into scoping her throat to get a better price. They quoted us at $1800 18 freaking hundred dollars for anesthesia and a specialized camera. These folks will straight gouge you. I've also had other experiences where they completely missed the diagnosis and lead to more suffering and pain for my now deceased blue heeler (Stoney creek branch)(brain cancer). VCA seems to be more about the bottom dollar rather than giving quality service at a fair price. I recommend a proactive approach to your dogs health. Cause your wallet will take a massive hit at these facilities. Never again.

My dog was unable to walk and in pain. These angels brought my dog back to life, able to walk again, (after successful surgery and physical therapy). Thank you so much to VCA! Dr. Cross is the best! We cannot express how happy we are to have had our sweet dog feeling great and living a happy spoiled life for all these years after. Everyone there is so patient and really cares. This place is such a God send!

This place is incredible! In an age when so many companies are only chasing the dollar, it is comforting to find a place that displays genuine compassion. Dr. Cross and every tech I have encountered has been caring and transparent. You can't ask for anything else. Thank you VCA.

This was my first visit to the facility, as I was referred for Physical Therapy for my German Shepherd Dog, Max. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted and was told how soon our appointment would be. The Vet, Dr. Talaga came out to escort us back to the rehab room, which was a wonderful, clean, bright area.I had some trepidation, starting a new relationship, but Dr. Talaga put Max and I at ease very quickly. She was very thorough, kind to Max, and explained everything in a way I could understand. Our experience was great, and we will be going back for more PT.

I called and went to this vet in an emergency this morning, I asked for directions, if It It was north or south of 96th street, Hague road is split. She Said she didn't know north and south and gave me directions using Mcdonalds Burgerking Arbys and Tacobell.

I get to the vet, An emergency visit, stand at the counter and wait a minute. A couple come in after me for an appointment, Same girl on the phone, white, Overweight, young, tattoos. She helps the people who came in after me, takes 6 minutes to take their dog to the back and asks me questions for another Minute before she thinks to start me on paperwork. She was useless and really upset me.

What if the situation had been dire?

The vet and other staff were competent and professional.

EDIT got charged $44 for 4 pills which cost $17 for 4 pills at the pharmacy. $116 exam

If I could give zero stars I would. This place wanted $150 to put a suffering hampster to sleep. No compassion at all. All about the bottom dollar. Where is the compassion?

The front desk staff was helpful when I brought in my very ill cat. However, after a very long wait, I was finally able to speak to a vet. The vet indicated that the physical exam appeared fine and that the cat was doing better. This was odd to me because he was screaming in pain and couldn't walk or hold his head up. After conducting blood work, I was told that there were some "slightly elevated" levels. Very long story short--the cat was given medication even though it was clear he was dying. A trip to the regular vet the next day confirmed he was indeed not able to be saved, that levels such as liver and kidney enzymes were more than slightly elevated and we had to put him down. I was charged a great deal of money and my cat suffered all night in pain--I wish that I would have received a more honest diagnosis.
