There have been multiple occasions where I have had to pick up my niece early from school. In the morning, my experiences have been fine but in the afternoon, there have been multiple incidences where the front desk lady (Brenda Salazar and Yadira Bolanos) have been extremely unprofessional and rude. I hope that this school teaches these ladies how to communicate with worried parents/relatives as I did not feel comfortable in such a harsh environment.

honestly all this school does is overwork you in the hopes that it’ll prepare you for college, and yes I do seem like a whiny student complaining about a really good school, but overall the school just makes everyone in it tired, I can notice the amount of stress in everyone's faces from my peers to teachers to even myself. If you can't be kept on a clear firm of consistency with your education, then seriously please do not come here. But you don't have to listen to me, listen to other people first.

To all of you that want to send your kids here or are going to, I want you take a moment and read this review. North Hills is a school that is acclaimed for being the eighteenth best in the school. Yet if you go to its page, it will not talk about ALL of their students. Only the class of 2015, which was a gifted and talented class. The quality of its students and teachers have decreased. 2 months into the school year, and we had 4 essays due in one class. the teachers do NOT know how to teach properly. Most of the population of the school is asian (including me) because the Asian parents want to send their kids to a good school, which this once was. The teachers have this kind of mood by the end of the day and they take it out on us. Worried about late homework in North Hills? You should be. If you forget your homework in your locker, its late. The foreign language teachers cant even teach properly. Dont get me started on the food.

I guess people think that just because it is a charter school it's a bad school. That's not true. This is a good school! It's just the students who are bad and don't pay attention. "It's not the school that makes the student better, it's the student who makes the student better." You can go to the worst school in the world and still get into Stanford. I promise you that. All you have to do is work hard and have hope. Remember, the future belongs to those who believe in it.

All I can say is, if your money ever gets stolen in the school, you can not rely on the dean or any adult for that matter. I resently got my money stolen from two kids in seventh grade(im in seventh grade too). The two seventh graders names were Roopesh Dinakaran and Keshav Chandrashekra. It was also 10 dollars that was stolen from me . Anyway, I went to the dean and told her what happened. She told me to wait. I came back a week later and she tells me that there is not enough evidence to suggest they stole the money even though I saw them take it. So this is why you should not go to the dean if your money is stolen. Oh, and the school it self is poor and very dirty. It has decent education though.

Firstly, the only reason I've been here since kindergarten is because I really don't want to lose my friends. Second, this school is bad in quite a lot of ways. Let's get started with this rant The first thing that comes to mind: the teachers. Seriously, they act like we don't even have feelings. I'm not going to call out any names, but only my third grade teacher was seriously good. My fifth, I liked her, she quit this year. Wanna know why?
Because of the primary principle. Really. She pressured her to be meaner,
and she was nice. Eventually she quit. Now middle school is okay, but still.
Second: THE FOOD
JESUS CHRIST I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW BAD IT IS. First, primary just sucked. The only reason it even tasted good was probably because they added MSG or lots a grease. Now middle is ok, because they serve baked potatoes everyday if you don't like the choices. They also serve cookies and other stuff, along with some finger foods. Overall unhealthy, bad tasting, and just not good.
Last of all: quality of the school.
Let's start off with primary. My god, I don't know what to start with. In primary they made us sit on the cafeteria ground, which is gross enough already. They never bothered to clean up the crown molding or the rubber things on the side. This ended up with a lot of spiders, roaches, and ants. The school had wasp nests everywhere, which ended up with some wasps in classroom, outside, etc. Now, this sounds a little petty, but it was made from a barn. Not very promising, is it? Now middle: the quality, I definably prefer. We get our own lockers now, so we can actually keep it tidy or what ever. So now we have a responsibility to keep it clean. But the floor is gross.
Oh yeah, and a lot of students are upright annoying. We also get released later in middle school, which might cause you to make some adjustments if you have a middle and primary kid.

Do you want your kid to over-stress, develop hypertension, depression, and insomnia from extreme academic pressure when they're not even in college yet? Do you want your kids to think that life's success and happiness are proportionate to academic excellence so they stay in a cut-throat, dog-eat-dog just to be "someone" when they grow up? Do you want your kids to never have friends and absolutely hate their childhood? Then maybe you should send them to North Hills Prep. Fortunately for me, I have been able to escape this depressing place and move to another IB school that takes time to at least CONSIDER their students' feelings.

North Hills, is a great school and i have been in this school since kindergarten and it is a enjoyable school, but there are flaws. There are lots of bug and ants in classroom, and the most important thing is that the food there is horrible. The food is catered by Twelve Oaks Catering the food is not pleasant, I have seen my red apple be green on the inside not organic at all! Overall North hills is a great school with great teachers (well not all great) and the education to. The scholars are great and you WILL get friends. This is a great school to attend to

The teachers don't understand that students have feelings too, they often think they own the school and don't understand that the students don't only have feelings, but rights too. Some of these teachers don't have any restraint when it comes to punishment and acknowledgement, they will usually think less of you and have personal talks with other teachers about their student's and especially some of the special-ed kids. They punish you with embarrassment and think less of their students as this happens. They do it behind the Dean's back and don't think about their choices properly before they act, they will often have brutal judgement and don't care about what they say, basically screaming out load "WHY DIDN'T YOU TURN IN YOUR HOMEWORK" or "WHY DID YOU SAY (this or that)", anyway they basically don't care enough to talk quietly or with an inside voice at least. Anyway all I was trying to say is, don't enroll into this school if you aren't financially stable right now because MAN THIS SCHOOL IS POOR, THEY ASK FOR MONEY ALL THE TIME AND OVERPRICE EVERYTHING, LIKE $345 OR $645 DOLLARS FOR STUPID STUFF THAT ARE COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. This school is not as good as you think, oh and one last thing THE STUDENTS ARE MESSED UP AND LEGIT ACT LIKE THEY IMMATURE 20 YEAR OLD'S THEY ARE NOT ALWAYS PLEASANT TO BE AROUND. Also I personally hate this school, like I legit hate it, IT SUCKS GOING THERE EVERY DAY, that's all bye, =).

This is the saddest place I have ever been to.
I hate how they make you have 0 freedom.
Teachers yell at kids.
I have been here since kindergarten and I have only enjoyed up to 4th grade because 5th was a living hell for me.
No time to HAVE A LIFE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL!!!
I never liked school but this pushed the boundary

North Hills is a great school. I have been attending it for over 5 years. The school has a great curriculum and the teachers are always eager to offer help whenever it is needed. Academically, I would say this school is one of the best. However, the school does not offer students much comfort, particularly the primary. First, of all they should try adding walls to the primary hallways or at least cleaning them, as they are currently partially exposed, sparking a number of problems. These include: frequent wasps/spiders in the classrooms, getting rained on while walking to another class, and having to deal with the sometimes extremely hot/cold outside temperatures. The lunch food in all buildings is mostly enjoyable, with the occasional oddly-colored food. Overall, North Hills is a great school with only a few flaws.

North Hills is a really good school if you ask me. I have attended this school since Kindergarten and I am in sixth grade now. The teachers really know their stuff and their are almost no bullies in the school at all. The core subject curriculum is great too. I have felt important and safe in this school. New kids in sixth grade have no problem making friends. My complaint is the amount of room in the middle school part of the school. The hallways is really small and it is really annoying being pushed as 6th, 7th and 8th grade is swarming through the crowd like bees. The lockers are also split in half so it is hard for the kids that have bottom lockers to get their stuff and go. But the K-5 grades THEY ARE AMAZING! The teachers give you all the extra help you need. The Middle and high school are AMAZING as well except for the room complaint. The amount of homework is not as high as everybody thinks. The school gives a reasonable amount of work each day.. considering we only have 4 classes a day(we have total of 8 classes, we alternate days).
Nevertheless. you should enroll your child at this school.

The North Hills has come a long way from it's humble beginning in small warehouse buildings. It has proved to be an academic pillar of strength in the metroplex continuously ranking in the top 100 high school in the nation. (Ranked #4 when I attended)
While in attendance this school was not affiliated with the uplift program, but it did offer the inter baccalaureate program as well as Advanced Placement courses which offered some of the most challenging and beneficial curriculum to prepare a student for college. Many of my fellow students, myself included walked out of high school with a full year of college credits under our belt. The teachers whom really were much more than teachers, had an exemplary expectation of education and instilled that in their students. Not many schools can boast of a 100% graduation and college acceptance rate. Leaving the North Hills to go to college was an extremely easy transition, this school is truly an educational pillar amongst many sub-par educational institutions calling themselves high schools in the Dallas Fort-Worth Metroplex.

As a side note, lots of work and dedication must be put in by the student. There is typically between 1-4 hours of homework daily and extremely challenging curriculum to master. There is a community of well educated and studious students ready to think openly and work hard to earn their education as well as teachers ready to push educational limits.

I give North Hills 2 thumbs way up, 5 stars, all the highest praise.

I sent my Son to this school for highschool. He had the worst experience in his life. Everyday he would come home and complain and beg to leave, and he explained to me the horrible qualities of the school. First of all, the cafeteria is a joke. They serve horrible meals with the lowest quality possible. Second, the teachers themselves don't know how to teach. The teachers hope for the hard working Asian population to just pass the classes. Third, there are no actual elective courses you can take- there is almost 0 freedom. An amazing alternative is the nearby Coppell highschool or Plano west. Northhills is a prison not a school

Best school! The staff members are so kind and teach in the best way. The school's standards are high especially in high school with rigorous homework that really challenges the brain. With a schooling like this, the scholars are ought to go to great colleges!
