Dr. Elliot in Neurology, helped me through so much. I highly recommend this Dr. I will always remember him as someone who wants to help! He’s great! And his team was very helpful as well. 10/10!!!

$10,252.18 for the closed reduction of a single arm fracture (prediagnosed at MedExpress) and the application of a temporary splint (no cast or follow-up). The billing department is aggressive and, at times, quite smug. After dealing with them, I did not feel comfortable filling out the intrusive financial assistance forms. I have no doubt that the information would have served UVA more than it would have served me. Unfortunately, I could find no real patient advocacy. When you fill out their complaint form, they direct your complaints to the entity you are complaining about.

I received a new liver & kidney at UVA & was released 7 days later feeling so blessed. I want to thank 1st & foremost the donor family & the exceptional surgeons, doctors, nurses, & everyone else for the exceptional care. I'm doing great & am so blessed.

I just got released from 5 West after a short stay. The Staff - Bre, Ashley, Adam, Lana, my major caregivers could not have been more caring, understanding & professional. I can say this because I worked as a Medical professional for appr 22 yrs. They are top notch & the best. I called them my Angels. The surgeons & entire team (cannot state all names, to many to remember) performed a miracle on my ankle. My heartfelt thanks go out to all who took care of me.

UVA Hospital has saved my mom’s life many times. She was first flown to UVA in July 2019 with problems with her heart. She was not projected to live. It has been over a year and she’s still with us. Her quality of life is great! The doctors and nurses at UVA are so awesome. Everyone is so nice too. We feel so welcomed when we are there. I highly recommend this hospital. 💙

I had my appendix removed at UVA and had nothing but a wonderful experience (as wonderful as one can have under the circumstances!). Everyone I interacted with, from the ER to the surgeon to the nursing staff, was fantastic. My followup appointments went smoothly and I was back to living my normal life very quickly.

Using UVA Health Systems for blood tests is double what Labcorp or other labs charge for the same lab tests. As a result there is a higher out of pocket expense by patient even after the insurance pays UVA its customary charge for the service. Request that your doctor send the blood tests to another provider. Example UVA billed insurance $203 for thyroid TSH test, my insurance paid UVA $136. As a result my out of pocket to UVA was $67. I am no longer going to use UVA Health Services lab for any blood work. In addition, whats up with making your payment out to the UVA Board of Visitors. Whats up with that hey.

Every time that I stayed in this hospital, I received blood transfusions and became infected with Merci Infections for four years. Last year, thank God, I did not have Merci in 2016, and I stop going to UVA in January 2016. My treatment for Crohn's disease was awful for 10 years. I had several surgeries there only to never get into remission. I changed gastroenterologists for the seventh time, Dr. Ali Kazemi. After my seventh surgery at Sentara Hospital, I went into Crohn's remission on April 25, 2016. However, after my last surgery, I now have Short Bowel Syndrome, which I am managing with Dr Kazemi's assistance.
To add insult to injury, the imaging staff at UVA shut my bottom skin over my tailbone up in the apparatus used to take an image of my hip. God be with those staff persons. I have not heard from them even though staff members and the chaplain were told of the incident. I suffered with that for months and have to medications and shots for pain by the Spine Care Center in Manassas. Thank God for Dr. Zafar.
