Lots of dead Bettas in tiny, dirty bowls in the aquarium area. Skeletal looking lizards. Puppy mill puppies. I do not recommend supporting them.
Carl was extremely helpful. Didn't make me pushed into anything but gave me choices. I will be back to buy the new tank when they come in!
They have a good variety of dogs here and you can tell staff loves and cares for the dogs, some dogs however look like they could need more food, dogs some times bite (but they don’t bite hard at all) size of the cage isn’t as small as some reviews say it is. Friendly staff willing to help you and tell you prices, and age, dogs are definitely more pricey here. Could use more staff with the animals though.
Decent place. Animals could be cared for a bit better, but overall not bad considering the quantity and variety of animals stocked. Knowledgeable staff, good sales. Overall one of the better experiences in town, and I've tried them all.
They have a nice staff even if they don't know everything. It's fun to take the kids and see the animals. We always want to take the puppies home. They have a good selection of specialty foods and prices are comparable to other stores. Great selection of made in the USA dog treats. Lots of cool fish too!
They sell puppies, kittens, small pets here but not sure where they are from or if they are left alone when store is closed. Some look like they could be cleaner. If you want a pup or kitten look into adoption from a rescue or shelter. Most rescues come from high kill areas. Some purebred and some not. Would give 3 stars if they didn't sell dogs and cats.
If you are looking for anything for a pet this is it. Most stores only carry a few things but they have it all. We own a sugar glider and it's the only store we found that carries anything for that pet.
Good place to get feeder mice and rats gor my snake. Although its usually understaffed, they are friendly and helpful.
If you want to pay a grand or or more for a dog, that's your choice. You're a complete moron if you do. A bulldog they had looked malnourished it wasn't even funny. If you took a little bit of time and looked hard enough, you can find these same dogs from respected breeders for less. The whole process is pathetic and should be outlawed. Other than that, the rest of the place was alright. Not a lot of stuff for cats, birds are high priced. They have a lot of stuff for anything in a tank.
Prices seemed fair for the dogs, but the service was very cold toward customers.
One thing that concerned me the most was that none of the animals looked like they were well taken care of, not just the puppies. We did see dogs eating their own waste, which is a sign of malnutrition. Most of the dogs had red eyes. The first dog we played with was not clean, and his fur looked like it hadn't been brushed in months.
Doesn't deserve even one star. The dogs were in tiny cages with poop on them. Even the ferrets and guinea pigs needed their cages cleaned out. The fish tanks were green and dirty. The employees just stood by the registers talking. Never going there again. Those poor animals.
Jeff(store manager) is phenomenal and provides world-class customer service. I had requested a certain type of dog food they didn't carry and because of him they now carry it as part of their inventory to accommodate me. The store employees are very friendly and knowledgeable and the selection is great. If you love animals this is my place of recommendation in Fort Wayne hands down!
Very over priced compared to other local pet stores. They have a nice looking fish area but I noticed Ick on 2 of the gouramis. They use unit tanks so if one fish is sick a couple other units will get it too.
They do sell dogs (Adopt Dont Shop). They looked healthy but their prices for unknown background dogs were higher or the same as going to a well known, responsible breeder. Most I asked about were in the 1500-2700 price range.
There was staff around the furry animals who were helpful but I spent 20 minutes in the fish section and no one came around. When I was leaving there was 4 staff standing at the registers talking.
Seems their animals are suffering. The hermit crabs, for example, were under lamps that were too hot. The crabs were mostly dead, as they were baking them slowly. The dogs are in tiny cages along a wall. I don't know. Maybe all pet stores are bad. Seems horrific.
