There are so many fun activities to do here. There is whitewater rafting, mountain biking, zip lines, ropes courses, obstacle courses, rock climbing, trail running, and much more. You can spend several days here and still have more to do. The rafting is very fun and exhilarating. Mounting biking is fun with good trails. The ropes course vary in difficulty and are physically demanding. I recommend the all activity pass. If you don't rent bikes the trails are free. Very fun.
Awesome time! Took some friends here who were visiting from the Midwest. They loved it, we loved it! We all did the ropes courses and the rope jumps. We also did the rafting and zip lining. I fell out of the raft and hit my back on a rock but other than that it was a fantastic trip. Be prepared to possibly fall out of the raft!
Great place to go and the in the outdoors. Zip lining, trails are great. You can. Just pay for parking $5.00 and enjoy the trails. Or pay $60.00 per day and enjoy all the rides. It is a must go in the summer time. We went in November and the water rafting was close.
Absolutely beautiful, amazing outdoor recreation facility. They have an amazing controlled artificial "river" for kayaking, they have multiple climbing walls, treetop zip lines, whitewater rafting, and super fun mountain bike trails. This is an adult playground. It is three hours drive from my home, but we'll worth the trip. Bring your bike, your kayak and your climbing shoes and adventure till you drop. You'll drive home exhausted but with a smile on your face.
What’s not to love about the White Water Center? Getting a season pass here is a great idea. The single day passes for activities can be a little pricey, but if you plan to go 4 times throughout the year, a season pass is definitely worth it. There are tons of great festivals, events, and live music that you only have to pay for parking ($5) at as well. You can use the hiking/mountain biking trails for free (just pay for parking). If you bring your own kayak, you can even kayak for free and just pay for parking. This is a great venue for outdoor activities.
If you can get to this place, it is a must! The raft rides are the ultimate excitement! There is so much to do it is well worth the price. And even if you don't want to spend a dime or are perhaps unable to take advantage of the activities, just to bring a chair and watch (maybe with a micro-brew) would be an awesome day! I wish I lived closer and I would go here every weekend!
Absolutely my favorite place in Charlotte to go with friends, family, or even by myself. The trails are great for running and biking. The water activities are great with excellent guides. I finally got on the canopy tour and really enjoyed it with co-workers. Great food and beer selections as well in convenient locations all around the facility. You can't have more fun in Charlotte at this price range.
Amazingly beautiful place for all kinds of activities. You can walk trails, do high ropes courses, bike, zip line, white water raft, rock wall climb, and more. Although beautiful it is also a place you must pay attention and follow rules. These activities are dangerous as well as fun. Rules are there for a reason. The beer garden is a good place to relax after your adventure. They also have free concerts. Check the website.
This place is incredible! I'm into athletic adventures and it's all about that. I'd definitely come back.
Also got to check out Brew Stash Bash and it was super fun! Lots of great local breweries.
Evening concert was sweet as well - want to stay for more of that next time.
DON'T EAT HERE!!!
My family and I live nearby, love the facilities, and desperately want to enjoy the food here. However, after numerous repeat visits I can tell you genuinely the the prices are high, the service is horrible, and the food is mediocre at best. If you want hot, fresh food, or decent service don't bother. The problem is that the actual venue is so unique, we (and a thousand other people) keep going back. I think that the food manager somehow has not realized that the the restaurant portion(s) of the faculties are actually horrendously poorly managed, over priced, and the food is basically food-court quality. More people need to complain. Its absolutely amazing how they manage to get the menu right (local twists on cuisine, locally sourced food, craft beers, etc.) and yet manage to be so horribly, horribly awful in their execution year after year. Please, please if you agree with me post something negative so we can send a message and help fix this stinker of a potential gem.
It's a really cool facility. Ideal for families with kids. I myself wish they would rent out kayaks and equipment but I understand the added risk and insurance claims they would have if they did that out way bow great it would be. Regardless, great runs for rafting, if you have your own kayak go out there and give it a try. You'll have a great time if you enjoy adventure. Staff is really friendly, though not always helpful but they do there best. I recommend this place to all families who want more of an adventure than a dull theme park ride.
I visited the U.S. National Whitewater Center on Sunday, June 18, 2017 and the whole experience was amazing. Too begin, all the staff was super friendly and attentive. I felt like they wanted to be there and surely each one of them love what they do; to help all the visitors have a great time. I can say thank you and I would definitely go back.
Multitude of activities.
Trails are free but a day pass is $25 bucks. Very hot a lot of outdoor sporting type so come rested.Enjoy better without pet babies. This place is very well maintained and manicured. Wish I could have participated in somethings. Menu needs improvement not for those on a tight budget.
