We had a 2 bedroom on the main floor. Great experience. Affordable. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is situated surrounded by a residential neighborhood close to a somewhat busy road. We enjoyed the pool with our 5 and 3 year old. We would definitely recommend this place. This is not very close to the beach however. (20 minutes or so away drive)

The friendly staff and excellent customer service one would come to expect from Marriott, but with all the comforts and conveniences of home! Newer/modern building. All rooms have kitchens, and a full buffet breakfast served every morning! By far an excellent value!!!

My room had bedbugs in it. This was on 2/4/2018 and I was in room 221.

I missed the deadline to write a review on Marriott's website (not that I trust they would actually post it) so you won't find it there.
This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. Thank god I didn't actually get any of the bugs on me or any bites.

I threw my luggage and bags onto the couch and unpacked my clothes to hang them up. I did a super quick check under the top mattress (just by lifting it up) and I didn't easily see any bugs so I felt it was all good. I then took out my laptop and worked at the computer desk for around 30 mins or so and then went to take a shower and get ready for bed for another 30 minutes or so. When I was ready to go to bed I quickly pulled back the covers and saw a bug several mm in length quickly run and try to get away. I immediately grabbed a tissue from the bathroom, grabbed the bug and put it on the nightstand with a clear glass over it to capture it. My wife is deathly afraid of hotels and budbugs and had shown me many pictures of them online so I knew what kind of bug this was instantly. In any case, I googled it just to make sure. I'm not sure why but I also decided to pull back the mattress protector in the top corner and saw a small bedbug crawling around as well. The mattress must have been full of them.

The hotel gave me another room for the night. The next day they moved me to a different room (in case I infected the first one if any of the bugs had crawled into my luggage or backpack). They had my clothes cleaned and my luggage and backpack searched. I bought 1 outfit to wear on the first day since they had all of my belongings and they paid me back for it. They gave my company the first night's stay for free (awesomefor them) and gave me 5,000 Marriott points (ugh).

Once again, this was the worst stay I've ever had in a hotel. I've always told my wife that she shouldn't be so worried about bedbugs but I completely take that back. I now spend around 20-30 minutes stripping down the bed and checking it before moving in. Don't stay here.

Stayed here for 3 weeks for work. Was comfortable and the staff very accommodating. Loved the evening drinks and cookies, warm hot tub and good breakfast spread.

Stayed here recently as my daughter had a lacrosse tournament. As a frequent business traveler I know Marriott properties so I kinda knew what we were getting but we were pleasantly surprised.

The check in process was great. I was greeted, asked how my day was and if I needed a bottle of water: all before I checked in. You don’t get that level of service in Manhattan.

The room was great, a studio suite. We asked for extra towels ( it’s in my Marriott profile) and they were in the room.

Overall we had a great stay and when in town we will be back.

My stay was great. They have a full kitchen so you don't have to go and buy a bunch of fast food. The beds were also really nice.personally I LOVED it!!

Stayed in room 302 for 4 days while our house had flood repairs. Overall good experience. The ac units in the rooms need to be cleaned, but other than that the room was good. 2 bedroom room suite with kitchen and living room. Staff is very friendly and wants to resolve things right away. I would stay again.

Clean and confortable for overnight stay on a weekend trip to LegoLand. The interior seems recently redone. Rooms are decent size and have a kitchenette and fridge. The breakfast could be a little better. Overall we liked our stay. Staff i friendly and helpful.

Very nice and clean, great staff. The main problem was the noise. The hotel itself was very noisy and then you add the traffic noise, made it very unpleasant. But it was a great property

This place is a hidden gem in San Marcos, and I am loathe to write this review because people may actually find it - not so good for me.

A nice place — clean, inviting, modern, and each room has a full, FULL, kitchen. The TownePlace Suites has a beautiful lobby, is quiet, and the complimentary breakfast is insanely good for a modest hotel like this — We were REALLY impressed. Also, coffee, hot chocolate, and tea all day. YUM!

The hotel also has a cute little pool and spa with patio tables where we spent most of our breakfast lingering in the early California sun. We even communed with some fellow travelers. Nice.

But mostly, I just have to say, it's the staff. The staff is really wonderful. Read: friendly, and not in that forced, slapped on, faked-smile sort of way. They always acknowledged, greeted, and made eye-contact with you as you passed. And for the West Coast — known for its Borg, Stepford Wives, and that Star-Trek-Next-Generation-episode-where-the-crew-becomes-addicted-to-a-mobile-headset-video-game mentality, this was an unexpected surprise.

We even got to know some of the staff, the ins and outs of their lives. Lovely people, all.

Someone taught them this kind civility, no doubt. They were instructed as part of their training, because it's so unusual. Reminds me of a time and place when people regarded and acknowledged each other, when they looked you in the eye — perhaps like the Grand Hotels of yore.

Thanks to whomever decided this kind of hospitality was a priority for their hotel.

Also, just don't go here. Because we want there to be plenty of space on the pool patio-tables for when we return. :)

I really enjoyed my stay here. Everything was clean. Showers were hot and more than enough room for one person. Great breakfast and a jug of Ice cold water waiting at the front desk. Multiple food restaurants right outside the hotel. I highly recommend.
