I gave one start because you have to give them something, I wouldn't even give them that.

I stayed here as an intern a couple years ago and I would not recommend it to anyone. The staff and management is by far the worst landlord I have ever dealt with. When I moved in, they charged me for the previous tenants utilities and a late fee for when they did not pay (twice). I challenged this with the staff and they said the charge was false and it would be removed but they never removed it and we did this back and forth several times. When I moved out at the end of the lease, the other individuals in my unit signed on to continue living in the unit for the proceeding year. Following my departure, the other tenants damaged the room and I was charged for the damage to the room after I moved out. Additionally, they charged me for August utilities for when I moved out in July.

For the following year I received many calls and had multiple conversations with their staff about the remaining balance on the account. After each discussion, I would reach an agreement with the staff member on what is the right balance and they said they would remove the false fees and get back to me. However, they never got back to me and a month later I would get another call saying there was a balance. This went on for about a year until I spoke with a manager, the result was they would get back to me and of course they didn't and my next call was from a collection agency.

I would recommend never staying at this location unless you are absolutely desperate and don't have any other option. Even then, I would put yourself in a temporary living situation if possible until you can find a place because I would not sign any rent agreement with this group.

This organization definitely takes advantage of students. Rates are outlandish and the perks promised rarely adds convenience or works. They offer a shuttle that is never on time, never enough room for students to fit, and the shuttles themselves are unsafe. As a student I am counting down the days to leave these predatory leasers behind. The thing that sucks the most, is that it is awesome microcosm with ideal location for convenience but what you pay is not worth the problems.

Staff are friendly and quick to resolve any concerns that may arise. There is always a Community Assistant on-call after business hours. Periodically community events are held for residents to have the opportunity to socialize and meet with each other.

The amenities for the building are a nice benefit compared to other options in the area. For residents that drive, paying for the garage parking almost feels like a necessity when winter comes around. The price is a bit expensive, however that's a review better left for the garage company (Atlantic Services Group). There are elevators that connect from the garage to the lobby. There is always security at the front desk for the residents convenience.

Also worth mentioning is the prime real estate of the area. Hyattsville is a fast developing hub for the arts, restaurants, and urban-suburban living. For residents that wish to seek entertainment outside of the building, but don't wish to travel far, there are glass-blowing, culinary, yoga, and kickboxing classes nearby. Behind the building is a library, a few bars, and a movie theater. For additional entertainment, there is public transit and a metro station across the street that will lead into Washington, D.C.

There is a plethora of restaurants to choose from and new establishments are constantly opening. For those that prefer to cook, there are numerous grocery stores nearby, including a 24/7 Safeway which is a convenience for both early-birds and night-owls alike.

The demographic of people that live within the community is diverse and constantly growing. The age range varies and for those looking to remain in the area long-term, there is daycare, primary schools, and even universities in the area.

Overall, the Towers is an excellent place to live.

The good and the bad at this establishment are even. The location is prime. I also appreciate the amenities that are offered. Dealing with the staff, at times, however can be stressful and useless. Problems may go dismissed or denied. This is not to say, however, that all of the staff is horrible. There have just been some less than satisfying moments.

In the grand scheme of the housing situation in this area, it's not a bad price. However, I don't think they've updated the appliances since the place was built and the maintenance guys don't come quickly.

Do not lease from this company unless it is your last resort. I am very unsatisfied with the way my application was handled. The online system and portal this company relies on to communicate is faulty as well. Very disheartening.No names are given following correspondence it is like a big SCAM

My experience at the Towers at University Town Center was very warm and inviting. The Towers at University Town Center was my Home away from Home and the staff was exceptional. If I weren't moving into my own place I would still be here. Thank you for providing a Great experience for my first 2 years of my matriculation at the Illustrious Howard University School of Divinity as a Doctoral Student. I will miss the Amazing staff, social and educational events, and friendships that I built with residents.

***I'M GOING TO SAY THIS NOW AND PLS LISTEN. ONLY STAY HERE IF IT'S YOUR ABSOLUTELY LAST OPTION AS IT WAS FOR ME. The elevator are always broken, their printers never work, their weight equipments also are broken and they wait till new residents start coming for a tour to fix it. My ceiling floor was leaking water at some time (Picture attached). They also charge you a transfer fee if you want to renew and move to another building. It constantly smells like weed and their service team is very slow to act. The appliances are very much outdated unlike what they showed me during the tour. Again these are my honest experience which some residents would vouch for.

I enjoy staying at the towers. As a Howard student, the shuttles are very convenient and I don't have to rely on driving or taking the train.

This is one of those things that really deserves 2.5 (instead of 3) stars. I would definitely give this place 5 stars if not for the way it's ran. Parking (in my opinion) is very affordable, the shuttle is very convenient (but not without a few grievances) as is the location, and it's well kept/cute.

The shuttle.. Somehow it runs to campus every half hour but only returns every hour. I could look past that if it left ON TIME! It is infuriating after a long day in class to have the shuttle leave before you make it there when you're 5-10 minutes early and the next one doesn't leave for an hour!

If you lock yourself out, even if you didn't actually lose your key, a TEMPORARY key is $75. That is insane.

My biggest complaint though is the insulting rules regarding guest check-in that are kept. I am not a child and do not need my place of residence to screen my house guests as if I'm living on campus. I work for and pay good money to live here, and do not think it's appropriate for my guests to have to present an ID when coming in with me (signing in is one thing, but the need for ID is insulting).

I would give this place only 2 stars (because that's how much these few complaints have irked me), but if you're a student (I can only speak for Howard students), this is probably one of your best bets unfortunately.

The staff here is very lazy, it took three weeks to get my toilet fixed. I walk into the office and one is asleep and one is watching you tube and they just said "we can't help you". Like, I pay a good bit of money to live here and these people can even get a maintenance person to my room to fix it? However the maintenance guy was very helpful and nice when he finally came. Please get people that care about there job and not some lazy college students to work inn your office, thanks.
