Staff seems professional and knowledgeable but some of their policies are so restrictive it limits the services available to some citizens. A simple outpatient procedure will be denied for no reason other than patient needs to take a cab home. I am aware of the necessity of CYA but this hospital has apparently never heard of "first, do no harm."

People are being turned away for treatment after the pain pill prescription problem at the VA hospital in Tomah. 3 people that I personally knew has died horribly in the last few months. They were told its one thing the go home or to Lacrosse and then they die. If you're hurt really bad or bleeding to death go to Lacrosse or Mauston.

Unless you're having a child, I would avoid this place at all costs. Dangerous misdiagnosis, staff playing on their phones constantly, just awful all around care.

I would pay the extra money for the ambulance to take you to LaCrosse immediately because 3 hours after you arrive in Tomah they are gonna send you to LaCrosse anyway.

From registration to surgery to discharge, I have experienced the cream of the crop of medical professionals. From the receptionist, to my OR nurse Jen, to the anesthesiologist Jeff, surgeon DR Minus, to CNAs Kayla and Mc Kenzie, I cannot thank you enough for the care I received. I visited on August 26, 2016.
