Love this place. Always clean and childcare is great. Does get busy during the late afternoon on weekdays, but other than that great place with great staff
Love going here! Great place and clean child care area!! Great staff
Great place to workout. Also a fun place for kids. Alot of classes offered here as well.
Love Morrie's yoga classes, especially the Tuesday night ashtanga. I trudge over across town just for that. Parking can be a bit of a hassle in the too-small lot.
Nice gym/ fitness facility, it is amazing place for kids gymnastic(definitely they could level up and improve)!
Nice and clean gym. Equipment maintained well. Excellent outdoor jacuzzi!
Today our family of five received a tour from George and signed up after the tour. George was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. We were very happy with the facilities and how it will bring our family together!
Love everything about this Y except the child care (hence the 3 stars). They don't change diapers or help kids use the potty, or out their clothes back on. If you are potty training good luck at this place. Ridiculous rules. The classes are great and the equipment is nice and new and staff members except child watch are friendly and helpful
Love this gym! So much equipment. They have a full gymnastics center inside, a pool with a water slide indoors, karate classes, spin classes, on site child care, and so much more. I highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area.
Re done locker rooms, resurfaced pool, a big gym for kids (enrolled in class). Offers martial arts and other sports for kids. Includes a kids care area for parents to drop thier kids off at while they work out. Parking is usually prety easy, and there is a big overflow lot on the east side. Staff is all fairly helpful. Swimming classes are super chaotic. Save your time (and sanity) and get the private lessons. My daughter has greatly disliked all the camps that she attended here. The camps are mostly outdoors in a dirt lot..so what is to love?
This is a very nice Y with nice people all around. Many activities for famlies with an awesome gymnastics area and program. There are many classes going on for adults. I am a swimmer and visit regularly in the early mornings for 3 to 4 thousand meters. The lifeguards are tremendous and we always have fun conversing with them at the hot tub after a long swim. I highly recommend this YMCA.
My 5-year-old and I go for the pool. Why? There aren't a ton of indoor pools in San Diego but this one:
- Is the warmest of the SD county YMCA pools
- Has the chillest lifeguards
That's not to say the guards are carefree or lazy--they aren't. You can see them constantly scanning the pool and I feel safe with them there--heck. They even man the hot tub! I just appreciate guards who can recognize that it's safer for a struggling kid to grab onto a lane line than to lose it over a broken rule.
The locker rooms have been well-maintained and sometimes the showers could be a little warmer, but overall a great experience.
I can't speak to anything but the preschool because I have yet to use those resources. However, in the month my son has gone to preschool at Toby Wells, he's become comfortable in the water and can do some tumbling. He likes his teachers, his friends, and his school projects. Overall, it's been wonderful.
Probably one of the best Y's that I've been in with so many features that it's difficult to list them without missing something.
All 3 of my kids have taken parts in different classes, activities and camps over the years and myself and my wife are regular visitors in the gym.
Some of the features are; indoor pool, kids playground, soccer field, boys and girls gymnastics classes, spinning classes, weight room, aerobic exercise room and so on. The kid's room was a blessing when the boys were little and the summer camps have saved us many times, even though they could be better organized.
Gotta love the Y!
