I'm a Blue Chip member, and it was my first time with Thrifty. Cheap car rental. Found them in 10 min flat, got upgraded, selected car from the dozen, it was brand new. In 10 min I was out on the highway. Maybe I was lucky. Every time I get to Disney, the magic starts at the airport. Do your homework, buy Toll Pass sticker in advance via mail

Took me 2 hours and 30 minutes to find my rental. 4 booths in 2 terminals and employees nowhere to be found. I assisted an elderly man find them as well as we were going back and forth between terminals. Once I found someone from Dollar, their other company, they did my paperwork in 3 minutes sent me to get my car which was locked and no one had the keys. At this point at had to go back to counter with my bags to find out there's no one at the counter again. Called customer service they did nothing except to call the location which no one obviously picked up. 30 minutes later the counter lady comes back and says oh just go get a mid size. I left fuming. It's 3 am.
When I went to return the car, the representative notified me that that car wasn't registered to me and there's nothing in the system that stated I had that car. Truly truly truly horrible experience.

Trust me, Thrifty/Dollar offers the worst of the worst in all aspects of customer service, reliability, policies etc. We arrived at 12am at the rental desk with our reservation in hand, where us along with many other customers were rudely told that they are out of cars and closing their counter, go to terminal A and get dealt with there. At the terminal A counter, copious amounts of customers were laying all over the floors still waiting from 4 hours prior. When checking in with the clerk, he lied to us and said it's going to be an hour or so, they are cleaning the cars. In reality he was only putting us in the queue then, despite the reservation time we booked. People waiting said they had all been there 3 hours plus, and only 1 or 2 cars were being released per hour max. My husband overheard a staff member say the cleaners had left for the night. The company offered no alternatives, no compensation, had no policies to deal with the issue (clearly they had far overbooked), kept telling us we can talk to the manager if we want to meanwhile the manager wouldn't show his face for hours on end!! The unprofessionalism and lack of customer care in this situation for all customers was disgusting. The staff and manager "Rusty" are a disgrace. After all the hell and finally managing to book with another company so we didn't have to camp at the airport for the full night, they actually gave us a hard time about a refund!!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND SANITY, THIS PLACE IS COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE AND WILL LEAVE YOU HIGH AND DRY!!!!

I rented a car from Thrifty at MCO earlier this month. Getting the rental after a 11:30pm flight was easy and quick. The problem I have is that they charged me $44 for gas when I returned the vehicle with a full tank. I'm aware that they charge $9.99 per gallon if the tank isn't full, hence the reason I filled the tank before returning the car. There is no way I used 4.4 gallons of fuel driving 26 miles to the airport in a Nissan Altima! They over charged me for fuel and I feel robbed. Word of advice make sure to fill the tank, get a receipt and check the receipt for extra fees.

Good value rental purchased in advance. Good quality car. Staff responsive and refunded toll charges when not needed. Toll charges are higher than most other hire companies but they agreed to refund the charges once I requested that I did not want them.

On Wednesday 9/20/2017 I arrived at the Thrifty Car Rental area located on the lower level of the Orlando Airport. When I got to the desk I informed the Customer Service Rep that I had made a reservation VIA AAA online she took my ID and she began to check me out for the Suburban truck I had rented when she fished the total came up to $550.00 I told her this is not the price I was quoted on the AAA website I pulled up my reservation on the my phone and I showed her the reservation which stated I would get the truck for 5 days for $273.97 she insisted that this was incorrect and she needed to see my phone to look how they set this up I gave her my phone and she looked at it and proceeded to review the reservation. She went to talk to her supervisor who was over in the Dollar rental area and she came back with her supervisor the supervisor told me if I can produce the reservation they would honor it. I took my phone back and tried to pull the email back up and I could not find it I told the Customer service rep that I was having issues finding it and not once did she speak up to inform her supervisor she had reviewed it already. So i called my daughter over to the desk and had her bring me my laptop when I logged on to my email I searched again for my reservation then I looked in my email "TRASH" and their was the email. I told the Customer service Rep I find it very strange that my email was deleted after she touched my phone the woman denied doing anything. I got really upset and the Supervisor came over and completed the transaction. I would like this place to be investigated because they are doing something very shady I'm not sure if they get commission for rentals but what the customer service rep did was wrong and unprofessional. I think they have done this before and customers probably were forced into getting a rental at a higher price this is poor business and Thrifty has been around for a long time its disgusting that this staff member is being unethical.

In the 11 years I've been going down to Orlando, I've always rented at Thrifty, and thus far, have never been disappointed. They always have my vehicle ready when I arrive and allow me to switch to any other vehicle if I don't like the one the picked out for me. Customer service has always been A1! No delays in picking up or returning!!! Thanks guys!

I have rented many cars in the past, rented a pickup Aug. 2017, I had reservation for a pickup truck, when I got to the lot they told me there were no pickups, I was upset, 1AM in the morning eventually after an hour they brought me a newish pickup dented and scrapped everywhere I noted it on the diagram (form) before I left the lot. Two month later my insurance co. calls me 9/26/17 to say I did damage to the truck ( the prior damage I noted), should work out ok; they look to commit insurance fraud. So, PLEASE DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS RENTAL COMPANY, EITHER DON'T RENT OR BE LIKE ME A RECORD EVERY BLEMISH BEFORE YOU LEAVE, OTHERWISE BE PREPARED TO BE PAYING HIGHER INSURANCE PREMIUMS.

I use thrifty every time in Orlando. Always have had a good experience. I am a Blue Chips member and it make everything much faster and easier - no hassle to buy different options, everything is set up before you head out. I just walk out to the garage and pick up my car. Most of the time, the board tells you what space to pick up your car - you just grab and go. Sometimes need to stop at window in Garage, and then have a choice of vehicles in the class I choose. Hardly ever a wait time.

Drop off is always quick and easy. No hassle.

My only complain with Thrifty and being a Blue Chips member - Once you gain enough points for a free day, you have to book through a special web-address. The cost of the cars are more expensive this way and even with a free day, the total cost works out to more than when I book through the standard process.

    Overall always a positive experience.

Great service upon pickup. The service rep was able to combine our reservations and give us a better rate.
Very fast and efficient return .

How disappointing. My elderly father gets into the car and pull up to the exit gate and the change oil light comes on. They make us back up, wind around in this airport parking lot and then no one understands what's going on. They point and tell us to pick a different car and bring the keys. Fair enough. We do that and he asks us about mileage on a vehicle that we drove 100 feet. How embarrassing for a company not know when their vehicle needs service. Does not make one feel confident in their quality checks for their cars. Would not recommend. Especially after a long flight in.

Charged my card before telling me the total (293 for one day) rate was supposed to be 130. I told them to cancel the rental and went to Enterprise for 123. Was then called a couple hours later asking if I was going to pick up the car, I told them that I had canceled it they said they would make sure it was. Was then called the next day asking if I had picked up the car, told them again I had canceled it and did not pick it up. I still have a pending charge on my account. Would not recommend

Everything was great except for learning about the toll system after we arrived in Florida and got off the plane. Also the lines at the desk or very long. Not something you need after a four hour flight. The woman at the desk was cordial and polite but she was having a hard time explaining what the $10 per day charge for tolls would do for us. I think it would have been better for us to not pay the $10 per day for tolls and instead just pay the tolls with cash. We really did not go through many tolls in the five days that we were in Florida. I certainly do not think we would have paid as much if we paid each tall as we went through them. The car was great and the price was very reasonable. All in all it was a good experience except for the long lines when we arrived in Florida and the total expense was not explained well by the woman at the thrifty desk.
