We enjoy this smaller non chain hotel. Courteous staff, well appointed. Roof top pool very nice. Roof top lounge great views. But.looking a little tired. Pool heater broken as well as one elevator. Drinks and appetizer at roof lounge mediocre. Am not writing it off yet but if the next stay is the same it goes to a 3 star!

This was my second stay at this hotel. My first review for the Wyvern was glowing about how nice my stay was. This time around I have to note that the overall general state of repair on the property was lacking. On the positive, The rooms were still very clean and the staff were as friendly and accommodating as I remembered.

Great views of the city from the rooftop bar fusion appetizers pool for guests. Music with your wine or cocktail just makes for a relaxing evening. Say it with me: "WYVERN!"
To the left of the lobby is a great jazz bar and sophisticated restaurant. We traveled to Punta Gorda to meet two well known musicians from Sarasota that were scheduled to perform. Take I75 exit 164 towards town about 4 milesturn right onto Rt 41 about 1/2 block on the right.response / report this review -

Best bed hands down! Great pillows and beds! Deluxe suite rooms are very nice.
Elevator is a bit of a pain but secure.
Maids are amazing!
Staff is so so.
Bar is cool.
Some rooms do not have hot water not cool.

You are better off coming up and eating and not booking a room. When you book a room u are not allowed to bring your own drinks or food to the pool. You are treated like you have the plague when you are using the guest amenities. Please book rooms elsewhere and only come to the roof for a drink. Better yet, save your money and go to a better place with better prices and better food.
I'm pretty unsatisfied with my entire stay. Don't waste your money.response / report this review -

This hotel was very nice. The views were great. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The parking was horrible. There is on site parking but it is shared with an on-site diner/piano bar. The parking for guests became overwhelmed by the diner groups. One front desk clerk suggested I park at The downtown parking garage. They said "it's only a 20 minute walk". They should have dedicate parking for the hotel guests. The front desk staff was atrociously curt with their manners. Very short with myself and my wife on several occasions. All for simple questions too. For those two reasons alone I will never bring my family here again and I would steer anyone who asks away from the hotel. I don't care what kind of day your having. When you work in the Service Industry you provide Customer Service or you stay home.

Hotel was nice. It was under construction when we stayed as they were renovating the lobby. Room was large with nice size bathroom. Stand alone shower and also separate tub. Rooftop pool and bar great. The view a huge plus!! If I return I will be staying here!

The marble bathroom is luxurious. The staff is friendly. The roof top bar is a wonderful place to hang especially at sunset. The only drawback for those who like it super quiet, there is a cranking bar/ restaurant across the parking lot on the city side that gets loud at night. I suggest the harbor side. In the bars defense, we had one of the most fun Saturday nights ever and walked safely back to our hotel!

First off let me say that if you can't give your all or at least your best shot, then don't bother at all. With that said, my experience at the Wyvern on June 3-5 was NOT their best shot, first off I should have been informed during my reservation that the hotel would be under construction, from the barriers outside to the lobby and even one elevator. The one that was working was a slow hot box and the forth floor was no bargain either. Now for the room, looked clean at first but upon my inspectionlolI found quite a bit of dust especially under the glass table tops. The head ( bathroom) was ok, but still sprayed it down with Lysol. Now for the beautiful view of the water front, it was more like a boaters parking lot and boat slip with the water in the distance, also a side view of a hotel that I should have stayed at. Evening brought out the sketchy inhabitants of the area, there were plenty of red and blue light shows outside my window, oh yesthe windowslolafter opening the curtains to watch the rain storm, I realized that I was looking through green mildew that formed on the outside, doesn't anyone clean windows anymoreor is that not politically correct. Parking from the bar at the back parking lot ( that's always full ).the pool / breakfast area that closes if it rains no on site restaurant and employees that are far from professional or even care at all. Forgot to mention that there wasn't any hot water the morning we were leaving., this made for an interesting shower.b-r-r-r-..lol This finishes off my review.

I love this hotel. Great rooms, and service. Very clean and beautiful view. The Rooftop bar was a great way to watch the sunset. I will definitely be booking a room here again.

My stay at this hotel was for the night of my wedding. Everything was perfect. The rooms are fantastic and very clean. And I can't say enough about how welcoming the staff were. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in the area.

I stayed on the 5th floor mid week and was there to work, relax and meet with clients first thing the next morning. The hotel room was clean and comfortable as they claim and the roof restaurant was worth going to. I have given it a bad review because the neighboring business had live music playing until 1:00 am. It was so loud I could not concentrate to work until after they quit. I tried noise canceling headphones and that did not even work. Called the front desk several times to complain and was told different things about the bands quitting time. I asked to be moved but the woman at the desk said the hotel was booked so she could not move me away from the sound. The next morning the person I spoke to at checkout said that the hotel had not been booked. The manager called and apologized and said they were meeting with the neighboring business owners to work out the conflict. All well and good but for the cost of the room, there was very few hours of rest or work time. I hope they can work it out because I can not recommend their hotel due to this experience.

Great location! Restaurant and bar both on ground floor and roof. Lots of other food nearby. Right next to Harborwalk, making it easy to enjoy the water. Only downside is a slow elevator!
