Fantastic guide and lovely scenery. We went in the dry season and still we got to do some really cool swamp crossings, stopping only for a sweet couple of wild pigs taking a swim We had a meal after and it was truly fantastic, all in the group were very happy. Super friendly staff, so definitely wort a visit. No complaints at all, tons of gators and other animals to see.

Anyone visiting in south Florida should make time for the swamp buggy eco-tour. Each time is different but always good. You'll see lots of wildlife and enjoy an entertaining and humorous narration by the guide/driver. It's worth the trip just to see the gators hanging out on the banks.

The Babcock Ranch Preserve (since 2016 now owned by the state and managed by the Florida Forestry Service). The wilderness ecotour operated by Tarpon Blue Resources and Land Management, is a 90 minute ride by an old school bus without windows through the forest and swamp areas of the Preserve ($24). Seasonal variation between wet summer and dry winter will change what can be viewed along the tour. There is a free hiking trail just beyond the ecotour office and nature display area that winds through a pine land forest for about two miles. Picnic table are on the grounds and a restaurant that may be closed at times. I would recommend at least hiking a bit on the free trail when here. Note the 400 acre solar energy installation along the entrance road, to power the Babcock Ranch new town being built a few miles south, the world's first solar powered town. Opposite the solar farm is a 300 acre sod farm.

Have done this tour quite a few times in the past 20 years I have lived in Florida and it never gets old. When our family from up north comes down we take them it's a great way to see florida and how things are still done. So I can't see why the lady is upset that they got "stuffed into a bus" what did you expect it shows how the tour is right on the website! They also have handicap accessible buses therejust sayen!

This tour was very educational and even when it was raining it was worth going.
We loved seeing the panther and wild pigs, the alligators and the small deer.
I highly recommend the Babcock Ranch tour for anyone who wants to learn more about Florida.response / report this review
