I love that in the summer it’s open to 11, I wish they didn’t close earlier in the winter. Coffees are good, the vibe is eclectic. A lot of seating but it’s usually pretty full
Place is very, Busy and Very Well Kept. You can play old school Video Games and Enjoy lovely Coffee. There's a Variety of Books and Movies to feast your eyes upon and Read and the Car! Oh wow. What a scene! Needed more places to sit and conspire but if your a bit of an extroverted soul, This place is very feasible for those who don't mind sitting Stranger to Stranger.
Fun 80's themed coffee shop in the heart of Wicker Park. Where else can you grab coffee and see a DeLorean (like the one from Back to the Future)? They also have old Nintendo games you can play to transport you back in time. The drinks are pricey, but no pricier than a Starbucks. The $5 Cool but Rude ginger & curry sauce latte I tried was delicious. Both the ginger and curry flavors were subtle, but present. The honey bear has a fancy name, but it's a simple coffee drink that's delicious in a simple way. There's paid street parking, but may be hard to come by. Free on Sundays.
When I went to Wormhole Coffee it was as if I was transported to another time period by the decor that is inside of the cafe.
I consider myself a coffee critic, I know a bad coffee from a good coffee quite easily, and I get picky if the title of the drink says it is "cinnamon or nutmeg" I then expect to taste that in my coffee.
After taking in the neat decor of the cafe, I went to order and I got the Honey Bear Latte to go and it still had cute heart on it, and it was sweet - but not overpowering. I know that I will be going back Wormhole Coffee, to try more of their menu items.
It's a bit hidden on the block, but once you find it - you won't regret it.
Great espresso based drinks (served with Teddy grahams!), and tasty pour over brews served in a vintage '80s film and video game themed setting. All that, and just about the coolest and most open and accepting vibes around! Top notch!
This is the exact kind of coffee joint I look for in a city. It's casual without being sloppy but also refined without being pretentious. It has a solid offering of the classics as well as some of their own home-brewed ideas. I asked "what can I get here that I can't get elsewhere" and was pointed to the Cool but Rude which is coffee with ginger and curry. It sounds strange but is like a twist on a chai. It came recommended as better iced and I was white satisfied. Definitely glad I was pointed here and took the drink recommendation.
Such a cool little place! I love the 80s vibe, and the DeLorean in the back really sells it. I'd highly recommend bringing a laptop, and though I saw many people with headphones in, you're good without -- they play oldies but goodies and other more recent tunes throughout the cafe. Bar seating is nice (little loud because of the grinders, but not horrible) and there are some couches as well (often fill up fast, so get there early). I brought my laptop and got a drink ("Cool But Rude" -- ginger, sweet curry syrup, and coffee, iced, $5 and better than Starbucks) and camped out for about 2 hours working on projects. Really fun atmosphere and super friendly staff!
This place serves awesome coffee & creative teas but in the most sanitary way. They have the hippest Batista team who cares greatly for their clients food & beverage safety. Our company, Sanitized On Safety, enjoys being a part of their Food Safety Culture!
If you love the 80s you gotta go here. The delorean on the wall is real and amazing and the cool but rude drink is my absolute favorite
Eclectic 80's decor to the max. The have Wormhole gear, coffee hardware, and beans for sale. There's a decent amount of seating on various tables, bar, and couches complete with a console TV and classic Nintendo for your enjoyment. They had a coffee from China, which is apparently pretty rare, and was extremely delightful. Finally, who could write a review without mentioning the DeLorean in the room?
Awesome nostalgia-fest if you grew up in the 80s. A barrage of 80s movie posters, toys and memorabilia, including a full-size Delorean time machine and a working NES with a bunch of great games. Ohand the coffee is pretty good too :)
I could not wait to write a review for these people. Everyone was so sync with one another.
Andreas was very passionate about the shop. Tory was so knowledgeable about her craft. I wish you all the best, I truly do.
You guys have to check this place out. They have such an awesome theme , and even though it is dedicated too displaying different memorabilia , it still looks like a calm and Casual coffee shop.
The decorations support the coffee shop feel and are not one bit overbearing.
Super cool coffee hot spot. Drinks are great and the atmosphere is awesome. This place can get pretty busy with little to no seating available. I love the decor and all the memorabilia here.
