Locally known for its live music. Good choice of beer and quick food. Very friendly staff. Enjoy 😊
this place is amazing. The service is impeccable and the food is some of the best in the entire city. One time I left my credit card and hat here and our service ran outside to get them back to me. Love honky tonk so, so much. Live music + bbq: it’s a neighborhood treasure.
Good basic barbecue. All of the sauces taste like hotdogs to me, which is not a compliment. I suggest sharing the platter to try verious meats the first time you go. Cornbread muffins are pretty good too. They have some interesting cocktails and a good selection of beers.
Stopped in before a show at the concert hall next door. Just wanted a quick bite. We had a pork sandwich and a brisket sandwich with a side of Mac N Cheese. They were all amazing! Cannot wait to come back and try more items on the menu!
Great food. But, the patrons can either enhance or kill the vibe, depending on when you go. It's a hip little spot that nails the BBQ and music though. I'd recommend giving it a try, if you're ever in the area.
Great food and very attentive service. I had the fried green tomatoes, chicken wings and the brisket sandwich. All were awesome. I strongly recommend.
Great service, and great, GREAT food. On a sunday we saw a 30's band, it was really neat! I would wish they would open more seating on those nights, because it got a bit crowded in the bar area, but I would still highly recommend this place!
I have been coming here for years. I live right across the street and the food keeps me coming back. It's best when I have someone to share a sample platter with because I get to eat a bit of everything. They have a good liquor selection too and great bartenders and live music a few times a week.
Sorry. Not impressed. No smoke ring seen on ribs. Meat didn't fall off bones. Tasted like it came from the steamer. Too much pepper in dry rub. Serving photos show ceramic plates presentation. Actual service plates look like metal pans from yard sale. Empanadas good. Prices good.
I was wary of eating here when we went to a show at Thalia Hall because vegetarians don't typically find good fare at BBQ places. The Fungi Sandwich and vegetarian beans were so good! I would drive back to Chicago just to eat here! And the staff was super friendly and helpful too! Eat here for sure.
Visited on a Friday night with a buddy for a few beers. Also stumbled into a great live performance featuring a rockabilly act. Totally brought the place down and brought it all together for me. I have visited this place before for one of there beef brisket chili one night. It was delicious, but I didn't have the best time. The decor is awesome and unique and completely not pretentious. Check it out it's a Pilsen Gem.
Awesome bbq!! Torrential downpour and wind. There entry awning blew down. I'm from Maine and the neighborly thing to do is help. I come back in and they comped our whole meal!! Great people here
Menu is limiting. Best thing was the mash potatoe and garlic bread. The BBQ sauce comes on the side for all meals which is a bummer. The bun for my chicken sandwich was stale so the waiter brought me a new one that was warmed up. The mac and cheese was dry not too pleasing. I had better BBQ.
Best and most genuine BBQ atmosphere. Great service and performers. Best of all is the food, top three in Chicago for sure!
