I have live here 1 year. Absolutely suck! Old furniture and always broke. The employee were good attitudes , but they always don't know how to deal with the problems!
I've lived here for three years and have had minimal problems. The building is well maintained. Employees are always friendly and happy to help and management is willing to go above and beyond if you show a little patience. I will definitely continue to live here for the rest of my time at Michigan State.
I have lived at The Tower for almost 3 years now, and I've had a really wonderful experience! Great location, large apartments, & awesome amenities! The current office staff are really friendly and super helpful :)
I have lived in The Towers for a couple of months now and i completely regret it. It is not worth the cheaper rent. It looks like no one ever cleans, the elevators are always disgusting and the hallways are too. The management doesn't show up to work on time (they open at 9am supposedly but no one is ever there or picks up the phone.) they are terrible at getting information across and trying to set up the lease was a HUGE headache. They changed it on us multiple times and they have tried to add expenses over the course of us living here to get more money out of us. Its as if no one in management knows what their job is and nothing gets done. And judging by the other reviews people have written, I am not the only person who has had problems with this management.
THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!! DO NOT LIVE HERE. I would give 0 stars if I could. To start they have lost our lease twice. Upon writing new ones they have completely changed the agreements to what we signed to try and scam more money out of us. Management is never there. They are always late and never pick up the phones. The management here has no idea what they are doing. They send maintenance men into our apartment (when we never called them to check anything) and they just walk in the door into the living room without knocking!! Do yourself a favor and never live here.
Worst management system. Called three times only pick up once. I called to make sure for my new address so they can send my security deposited I gave last year. It's been half semester I moved out from the gate n I still didn't get my money back. I called to make sure they send to the right address. The staff told me " I already said it for like 4 times" What's the attitude for? I said it nicely n just want my money back n all I get is a wrong address with bad attitude???? Now I have to wait another 3-4 weeks? The staff even told me if they need to cancel the old check n send a new one, there will be a extra fee to pay. What's the fee for? To the bank or mailing fee?
Also, that was not my first try to call your office. I called 3 separate time n every time I got a different answer.
WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER! GLAD THAT I MOVED OUT
Management has changed three times in the course of my one year living here. With those changes, maintenance and cleanliness has declined dramatically. This is not worth the rent price nor the additional costs of heat, etc. A HUGE caution to graduate students if you value cleanliness and a quality living space.
I honestly wish I could give this place negative stars. It is the worst place I have ever lived in/ever been to. The management changed 6 times in the year that I lived there, my neighbors were TERRIBLE and were super loud and inconsiderate, and the new management is awful. I just moved out and was promised prorated rent for an early move out so I went to talk to the new ones in order to tell them what was going on. They okay-ed everything, so I moved out. Then I get an outrageous bill and was told that there was no record and that I "didn't take care of the early move out" before I left.
The only good thing about this place is the maintenance is relatively quick and very nice. However, Cardinal Management (the new management of that office) is awful. I do not recommend ANYONE living here unless you love being stressed out and living in conditions that are more awful than a dorm.
Such a terrible place to live! The management is extremely bad! You can only get your package from 3pm-6pm, which means if you are not in the building between 3-6, you will never get your package even you know it is just over there! Management is not thinking how to improve the service but just let customers to live with it!
The building is really old. There are no vents or fans in the bath room or kitchen, imagine what happens when you are cooking a perfect piece of steak in a closed room with no vents or fans? Or when you are taking a how shower but there is no way the moisture can go because there is no vents or fan!
Old building also results very bad sound insulation. No need to say more for bad sound insulation in a college apartment
Did these high reviewers actually live here?? What they sell you when you first come in is NOT what we got when we moved in. Apartment was terrible. & Management didn't care. They can be cordial (Except Christina- all of us hated her bad, passive aggressive attitude) but they don't actually CARE about the residents or their well being. Our apartment was very moldy prior to moving in and it remained that way. Our heater system was broken and there was no warning until our heating bill was $300 then when we asked them why, they told us So we bought our own space heaters. When I pass by on Grand River, I THANK GOD that chapter is closed. Terrible.
These apartments are serviceable. My review's based on a studio.
The bad: Some of the infrastructure is quite old/out-dated, mixed in with newer stuff. The internet is good, but it's weird that you just get whatever they pay for. You don't really have control over your cable TV provider. The staff are OK, sort of hit-or-miss. I was promised a $150 VISA card as an incentive, but it took about 6 months before I finally got it. I really don't like that they want you to renew your lease 6 months or more before it's up. If you don't renew about 6 months before it's up, they won't guarantee you'll be able to renew. You can't let people in from your apartment, so you always have to go to the lobby to let friends or delivery people in. The roads leading in to the community are awful, absolutely falling apart and full of potholes.
The good: The gym is one of the better attributes of the Tower, along with the location immediately adjacent to MSU. Noise isn't too bad. Laundry's on site. Parking's usually available. Some of the apartments have balconies. Internet is fast. Pets are allowed (though it adds to your rent).
Overall, the place is OK. The best things to recommend it are the gym and great location. The price is a bit steep to me. If you really need to be close to MSU, this isn't a bad option, but otherwise I'd say look into other places.
I don't know why this place is listed twice on Google but look at the reviews on the other pin.
The office staff are very welcoming and they even do free bbqs throughout the year. The location is good, the apartment rooms itself are fine. I'm giving it two stars because the walls are paper thin. You can hear dogs barking from across the hall and you can hear any party that is happening on your floor. I've stayed in two different rooms and you can hear every word your neighbor says. This wouldn't be a huge issue except both my neighbors were not students or working so they would be up at 2am watching tv or having guests over. I slept with earplugs in almost every night and sometimes that wouldn't even help.
You can see that all the positive reviews are done by fake accounts (with only one or two reviews and no history).
That is because there are many things wrong with this place from the high price and cost of heat to the poor quality of maintenance and mismanagement.
it's a horrible place to live in. not worth half the rent.
they r ripping off students.
Maintenance is somewhat slow to respond but very friendly. The staff is very annoying to deal with. Whenever you have a problem regarding your apartment or the complex itself, they don't care. They take their time with everything and shove all of the problems off like it's nothing. Would not recommend.
