The food is amazing, everything we tried was very good. Also have good deserts. If you like fish don't miss Friday fish and chips.

I was trying to find a place equidistant between Chicago and Milwaukee for a friend and I to have lunch. This was our second visit. On the first, we tried two different fish frys and we both agreed there was nothing overly special about the dishes, but then there was nothing particularly wrong, either, and, there are many fish selections to choose from so I will try a different fry sometime in the future. Note that the accompanying patatoes were fabulous. This visit we both had the Kobe beef burgers and I have to say this was the best burger I have had in recent memory. The menu is large and varied with some unusual items, plenty there to keep you coming back. On both visits the service was exemplary. We were made to feel welcome and comfortable. I would come back just because these folks are so nice. And the desserts are to die for. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

The food was good, with ample portions. By no means cheap, but the price point for what you got was quite reasonable.
So why 3 stars? I don't know if we simply dropped through the cracks in server assignment, or if they just had nearly all of their wait staff not come in that day, but from arrival to receiving our check was nearly 2 and a half hours. One hour of that was sitting at our table waiting on our order to be taken. Like we didn't even have anything but water and the bread some kid kept bringing us. The people next to us ordered, received their food, ate, paid, left, and had their table cleared before our order was taken. I have to assume that this is atypical service for the establishment.response / report this review -

First time visiting. It was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the decor was charming. The staff makes you feel like you're a regular even if it's your first time visiting. 😊

Visiting in town and Shanty came highly recommended and I can tell why. With the exception of the length of time food took to come out (reason for 4 stars), everything was perfect. Our waitress, bus boy, and my guess is some kind of shift leader /manager flawlessly served, bussed, and followed up with us and all the tables around us. I was very impressed. The resturant is clean from walking in to the table and table to restroom. They have a moderate selection of craft and common beers and a wine list that looks complete for any pairing.

I've been craving a really good, thick burger and this place really delivered. Cool atmosphere and ok service. Not too loud, but we went pretty late in the afternoon. Big menu but everything we had was good

The price and quality of my order did not match. I had the fried chicken dinner. It was okay. I sat there for over 5 minutes at the bar before I was even awknowledged in any way. My food order was to go. It took about 45 minutes or even close to an hour to get it. And it was semi-cold. So I believe it had been done for quite a while l, she just didn't check on it.

Just coordinated and performed the wedding ceremony for Christal & Craig at Temple Farms and you and your catering were amazing. Your staff was perfect, everyone worked so well together and personable - I mean really nice peoplethe food - well 5 stars aren't enough. Hope we get to work together again soon.!

My group of 4 went to the Shanty this past Saturday. We had a small wait but was WELL worth waiting for! We were in the horse room. The atmosphere was great and they had live great music and the volume was just right where we were still able to have great conversation. Our server Diane was WONDERFUL! Very knowledgeable on the menu and drink suggestions. Diana was very friendly and professional and provided us with great service! The appetizers were great we had the alligator tails, goat cheese wontons and crab cakes. Everyone's dinner was amazing. I had the honey glazed salmon. It was cooked perfect and came to the table still very hot. I will definitely come again when I am in the area. A MUST go to restaurant!!

This is my favorite restaurant around my location. Super friendly staff and excellent food. The owner is down to earth and a fantastic cook. LOVE this place!
