They only thing that's not 5 stars about this place is parking. But they do have a valet service. The drink menu is great, there's something for every type of drinker and the food is to die for, Tim love did a fantastic job on the menu. They have exotic meats and they like them on like you're a cave man. My favorite thing Is the flat bread, humus and the mustard.

I should start this with a plea for the ten star system as this place begs for 3.5 stars for a lot of the reasons mentioned by some of the three star reviews. I chose to round up because of the positive aspects.
The negatives:
parking can be a hassle and some dishes really lacking in execution (e.g., dry meat, need a little more salt, etc.)
The positives:
Five star presentation of the food, the aesthetics of the place are very pleasing, they're dog friendly (patio) and located right in the river. When the flavors and execution are there, they don't disappoint. The pricing is also reasonable for the upscale atmosphere and presentation of the dishes.
Will be going back to try more dishes and update on whether the three or four is appropriate.response / report this review -

The woodshed is a place I really want to like! I do like the place but it is a struggle and requires effort to like this place. Parking is terrible. If you go during a popular time of day, expect to wait for a table. The receptionists at the restaurant are not friendly. The wait-staff is slow and will be very hard to find, bring flags and a flare gun so they can see you. The menu strays from your typical fair, in both a positive and negative way depending on your tastes. Food & drinks are a little over priced but good, atmosphere is great, music is great, (it can be a family friendly place) and if the temperature is good, this is a great place to relax and hangout with friends. I recommend the brisket, and the Mexican corn or loaded potato. Good luck!

Beautiful place to go to chill and hang out on the patio by the river. However, much of the items seemed overpriced for both the quality and quantity of food. Food was definitely good, but nothing mind blowing for the price. May be a good place for a few beers and maybe some snacks to share, but I wouldn't recommend getting full on meals here unless you've got $ to spare.

Loved the place itself. Went on a Saturday evening. The place was very busy. Valet parking is the only way to go unless you want to hike in. The waiter didn't hover at the table. Live music all good. Only disappointment was the food took a while and arrived on the cold side. Fairly pricey as well for the portion.

Wow! The poutine was incredible. I had to revert to spoon mode with my fork because I didn't want to be seen licking the bowl clean (like I used to do with ice cream).
Really fun and relaxed style in the outdoor patio. This will be the place to be on most any celebration. They seem well-prepared.response / report this review -

Cool place. Opens up to large courtyard. Great atmosphere and vibe. Food was fantastic. Bartenders and wait staff did an excellent job. When in Ft Worth its a must.

Don't go for breakfast. I am writing this in hopes of my favorite restaurant making some changes. All I wanted was a normal breakfast and the only thing on the menu was crazy cooking show food that no one eats. All I wanted was 2 eggs, bacon and maybe toast and potatoes. That was not available. They finally allowed me to order off the menu and get the two scrambled eggs and bacon but didn't offer the other two. After talking to the chef they found me a piece of toast. Then the bill $14for two eggs..two bacon..and a piece of toast.maybe that is why I was the ONLY customer in the restaurant. Please do better Woodshed.

Great patio on the river. Live music many times I've been. Good place to bring your dog. Food is very good. Parking is a pain at peak times. They do have valet. Just like so many FW restaurants, some prices are reasonable for certain items on the menu while others seem a little off. Over time I have tried nearly everything on the menu. Several times I've added brisket ($5) to the loaded baked potato. Good value for what it is, and just the right amount of food sometimes.

Matt really helped guide us on an enjoyable experience. Brussel sprouts had an explosion of flavor that really made for a great start to a wonderful meal. Beef rib was rich with flavor, smoky, well seasoned. It didn't need anything but to be eaten slowly as to really appreciate the love put into a perfectly smoked and seasoned piece of meat. Great location also.

Fantastic food and a great atmosphere. Every time we're in DFW we request to have dinner here. Everything is phenomenal! Burger, ribs, brisket and sausage - doesn't matter it's great. Portions on certain meats can be a bit small for bigger eaters - but only because you'll want more! Dogs allowed on patio. Heaters when it's cold, and misters when it's hot.

Great atmosphere (well worth the higher prices). Love to bring our dogs here and sit in their open seating area (gravel section). Food is good for the price (Large enough to share) and they have a great beer selection. Perfect location if you want to enjoy a beautiful day outside along the Trinity!

After 3 visits, I am done patronizing the Woodshed until my children are teenagers:
No reservations, even for large parties.
Because of the lack of reservations, the wait time is too long.
The hostesses are not authorized to move tables together. We had to put up quite a stink to get 2 of the 3 empty tables to be put together so we could sit down after an hour of waiting.
The food is overpriced for what you get.
The parking situation is very inconvenient.
The Woodshed does have it's niche. It is a place for childless people to bring their dogs. And, if you have 6 hours to waste, you can get a table and they will not ask you to leave as long as you continue to buy drinks.response / report this review -

Couldn't ask for a better casual dining experience. As our party walked in past the sheds full of hickory, pecan, and other lovely wood, we knew we were in the right spot. We were seated at a picnic table on the huge deck, and the waiter did a very nice job of describing the options. We enjoyed the meat of the day (lamb) and the sausage of the day (elk) with traditional beef brisket and on a smoked hamburger. Outstanding sides and a strong beer menu. Highly recommend giving The Woodshed a visit any time you are in town.

The Woodshed is a pleasant place to hang out in nice weather. Their deck has a great view of the river and it's right on trinity trails, so it makes a good destination if you're out for a walk/ride.
The food is unique and tasty, but a bit overpriced (gotta pay for that view). As a large man, I found the portion size a bit disappointing.
The beer selection is pretty good.
The wait staff is responsive and pleasant.
If you're want an unusual take on barbecue, it's not a bad way to spend an afternoon/evening.response / report this review
