The place was beautiful and the employees were so kind. I stayed on the third floor and my room was upgraded to a suite. I loved the space of the room, the balconies, and the view was spectacular, but I thought the carpet and wallpaper was dated. While the master bathroom was beautiful the mirror had water spots and the wood was dusty. The lobby was decorated beautifully for Christmas.

Wonderful facility and staff. I was there for a business meeting and will go back for relaxation. It's within easy driving distance of Atlanta but feels far enough away to leave all of your distractions behind. Every member of the staff I spoke to was cheerful helpful and attentive. The food which was catered for our group meals, while served cafeteria style, was fantastic far better than any I can remember from past events. The single shortcoming I found was a desk and chair combination that made it impossible to work in my room, but that was corrected with a 30-second chat with the concierge on my way to a meeting, by the time I returned there was a very comfortable office chair awaiting my arrival. We didn't have time to really explore the amenities but it looked like there were nearly 100 holes worth of golfing pleasure as well as some trails pools and a very nice spa to enjoy.

Great place for a weekend trip with the family. Service is amazing as expected and the lake side view are fantastic. There is a small train that drives around the property for the little ones. Also, there is a good size playground with a basketball court. The infinity pool is great with views of the lake below. There is a beach on the lake with boat, kayak, and stands up paddle board rentals included in the resort fee.

Good bar service. Banquet servers were awesome. David and Natasha were exceptional! Beautiful scenery and the Christmas decorations were very well done. Valet service was very professional.

Poor management and nickel and dimming detract from otherwise promising property
Ritz Platinum member - have stayed here for 10+ years for conferences and vacation.
Do not expect an upgrade as an elite member. Front desk staff dismissive and rude - Vince started telling me no before even looking at my reservation. Stated I was in std room when room booked was lake view with balcony. First supervisor that came was not the manager as I was told. I was then told that when booked as a group rate they would not upgrade (I asked to be shown where this was in the terms and conditions and they couldn't show me) . My marriott app / reservation email stated I was eligible for an upgrade. Very disappointed in the service - the approach and attitude of solving for no was more of an issue than the upgrade itself - the staff clearly do not care about elite members and want to nickel and dime you. I recommend you skip this property and the disrespect you will encounter. Prices for what you get at a lake man made by a nuclear plant is getting out of line with the value here, especially with the poor attitude from check in staff.response / report this review -

Service is awesome, really like Gabi's. The drinks are a not too sweet, and the music in the bar is loud. But not too bad. Still a really fun place to come after dinner for drinks and pool

Very nice place! Every employee is super nice and greets you as you pass by. A little pricey, but it was covered by the company, so we didn't mind! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Ritz!

Great service with a friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were very nice and clean. The amenities were plentiful and for all ages. Great place to take the family, even the little ones will enjoy their time. Something for everyone.

After years of wanting to come but not being able to afford it we bit the Bullet and spent $1,000.00 per night for club level room with a lake view. Club level means food and drink included at the private club on the fifth floor, where you can't select the fifth floor without a fifth floor room key. Brand name alcohol all day as well. (Johnnie Walker Black was offered for my husband)
The food and service at the club was excellent.
After each employee asked where we were from we felt like each were programmed to say the same things to each guest, a bit creepy and disingenuous.
While we enjoyed the club level, the pool, the lake and all of the activities I feel the rooms are due for renovation.
None of the beds are new or comfortable, the roll away mattress we ordered for our son squeaked each time he moved and he felt the mattress coils all night. My husband met a cockroach at 1 am in the bathroom and that was the end of sleep for him! (That was after they moved us to a suite!!)
The first room had the shower inside the tub, in 2017 with what they charge for a room it's time to upgrade!!
The staff is extremely helpful and remembered our names and that was really nice.
We went to Gaby's for supper one night and couldn't find our server ever.
Overall I doubt we'd go back to this property or to a Ritz Carlton again, too much competition in this price range of hotels that we'd try instead.response / report this review -

I want to note that I was not an overnight guest or go for anything other than to check out the resort. From what I saw it was absolutely stunning. Sitting right on the lake, the resort had its own private beach. It wasn't very crowded and seems like a great place relax with your family. I would definitely consider being an official guest but mostly so I'd have access to the unreal golfing around Lake Oconee.

This is a beautiful resort. Everyone is extremely accommodating. The out door restaurant, Gaby's, was a major disappointment. Service took forever. When the order did finally arrive it was incomplete. Stay away from Gaby's, otherwise a wonderful experience.

The staff is friendly and helpful and courteous. The beautiful grounds aren't large but has such a great variety. The infinity edge pool that overlooks the man made beach that leads into lake Oconee. It's as if you're in the Caribbean and not Georgia. There are jet skis and pontoons for rent, floating docks where you can lay out on the lake. Lunch at Gaby's on the lake was lovely. Well priced and generous portions. A great place to just come spend an afternoon for an affordable price. will definately be returning.

I enjoyed my time here. The food and service was good. However, it was a long trek to the restaurant and it was cold and rainy. It would have been appropriate for the staff to offer a golf cart and inside seating for our lunch reservation.

We stayed in a lovely lake view room on the third floor. The property is simply beautiful. My favorite place to relax was by the infinity pool that just drifts off the edge looking like it flows right into the lake. Also, there are several things to do on property. My husband and I took out the SUPs in the morning and enjoyed a little time away from everyone else. They also have an amazing spa, unfortunately it was completely booked, so plan to make your reservations before you come to the hotel. Saturday night we got to do smores by the campfire, very fun for the kids and adults. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice weekend getaway. Extremely convenient for us as it only took us about 2 hours to get there, but still feel completely disconnected.

Great hospitality! Service was great for the most part. The golfing experience was fantastic; everyone is accommodating my wife does the spa thing while I play golf so I make sure she stays occupied!
