This place was fabulous. My family and I were there a week and a half due to closing on a house. The hotel manager and the entire staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms in the hotel were very clean and very well maintained. They made a very difficult time of transition for us very smooth because of how well we were treated. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will visit again.
The first room I was given smelled like smoke and the door wouldn't lock. I had to push the staff member at the front desk to give me another one, because they wouldn't give me my money back. He kept saying that they were sold out and couldn't give me another room. The second room was halfway clean. I could tell the staff just did a once over to make it look decent, but the floor had crumbs, the bathroom sink had stains and powder on it, hair in the tub, and there was a pee stain on the toilet seat. Had to run and get some cleaning supplies. Seems like it used to be a nice, but it hasn't been managed very well and is going downhill.
We recently visited the area for a friend's wedding and really enjoyed our stay at the Candlewood Suites. The rooms were spacious, with plenty of room to visit with friends and family. The beds were incredibly comfortable and everything was very clean. Even more important than the great beds were the wonderful employees. Everyone we interacted with was very polite, friendly and helpful. When I called about an item I had left behind, the staff person was very gracious and made immediate preparations to have my item sent to me. I feel like I had a 5 star hotel experience, but I certainly didn't pay 5 star prices. I highly recommend this hotel!
I absolutely love this place. It is a home away from home. The front desk staff are especially nice friendly courteous and extremely helpful. They are definitely pet friendly! My only downside is that I don't think that they should allow the pets to go to the bathroom on the backside where there are chairs and people can sit. They don't pick up after their pets and you can't sit back there comfortably at all. Other than that this is definitely a home-away-from-home experience :-) :-) good job
Way over priced for what you don't get. No pool or breakfast!! The girl up front was so unhelpful and lazy. She wouldn't even get off her butt to get me one coffee for my room. I will never go back. SleepInn is right next door, however, they were completely booked with the military for the weekend. Bummer! They are a little less expensive, AND have free breakfast, AND an indoor pool!
My family stayed here while we were moving houses and it was pretty nice! The staff is really nice and helpful and it is very clean. Plus it was one of the only places we could find that allowed pets. And it is very close to UGA. All-in-all it was a great experience!
Stayed here 4th july weekend, enjoyed it very quite comfortable sleep, amenities great walmart close by along with resturants ,kitchen and laundry facilities was a plus, would stay again
A great place to stay in Athens. Clean, super friendly and helpful staff. I travel often and would stay here again.
Property is still under construction, still has some questionable residents. Rooms are clean, flat screen tvs, parking is limited. Staff is very friendly, made coffee available even with my 4 am departure
Great value for the money. Nice, clean rooms with kitchen. And only 10 minutes from downtown Athens. Would stay here again.
The room was quite nice. Very spacious and having a kitchenette is handy. However, there is an exorbitant pet fee ($75/night) not mentioned anywhere on the hotel's site. So, if you book a room through their own portal, you won't know until you get there.
