We love staying here. It is a beautiful place. It is very clean and the rooms are very comfortable. Bernie, Linda and Edie are lovely people. The little touches of fresh cookies and hot chocolate, coffee and tea available for guests are awesome. Our breakfast is always delicious and beautifully prepared. This is a wonderful and beautiful place to stay.

I am really sorry to give this Beautiful place 1 star, when it really deserves 5. The owners Linda and Burnie were very rude and not welcoming to my Husband and I at all. This was our second visit, and we will not be returning.

    Replieing to the owners.
Well , I was not going to get into the details, but you leave us with no other choice, because your reply was completely un true.
Yes, it was your Husband that called us to make sure we could come early to check in, because you all were leaving for a Dinner Party at 5:30. My Husband said yes, we can do that, we will just pick up the keys, and come back later. We were going to a Wine tasting, and had to back track, so we could pick up the key, !!
So when we did arrive, you came down the steps, and we could tell you were not happy. You said oh !
Your early, we had a full house last night, and we are not ready !! So we said, we are only here to pick up our Key, per your Husbands request. We did ask you a couple simple questions, in which you were very rude.not to mention you made a big deal out of my Husband not liking peppers or on ions.long story short, read the other comment you got from last week's Clients. They pretty much said the same thing.

    REPLIEING..
Linda, my Husband and I have owned a very successful business for 23 years. We are very humble to our Clients, and they are always right, even when they are wrong.
You know you were rude to us , from the very beginning. You didn't welcome us at all !! You said oh !! Your early. Oh, then you said, how did you get in !! Where was welcome back !! Thank you for coming back. Nice to see you.maybe !! Besides, we did not have any luggage with us, we left it in the car , because we were merely only picking up the key, we were not checking in to bother you early. Your husband said, try to come early, because we were leaving at 5:30. We were not originally going to check in until the Wine tasting was over at 6:00.
You know Linda, from the very beginning, this whole thing could have been avoided, after everything you said to make us feel uncomfortable !! Our room was ready after allthink about that !
It's ok Linda, you and Bernie have a absoulty Beautiful place, and you take care of it extremely well, it shows. I do wish you well, because you have worked.
All we really needed was a sincere apology, or a phone call would have been nice. Instead , it was more important for you to defend yourself on Google than it was to retain us as clients.

PLEASE , read all your reviews.
Their is now two reviews that seems to be similar.

Linda and Bernie are incredible hosts. Their attention to detail, inviting and warm environment, incredibly accommodating style and exquisite breakfast have made The Oaks Victorian Inn our new favorite getaway. We stayed in the Garden Cottage, it was worth every penny. The jacuzzi and sauna were just two of the elements that sold us on The Cottage. Breakfast, made by Linda was incredible. We woke up excited for breakfast each morning! Edie, the hospitality staff was so wonderful. She was such a kind presence in the mornings and truly attentive to any and all needs. Our first morning we asked if they had sugar in the raw for our coffee, they didn't and we didn't mind using regular sugar and told them not to worry about it. The next morning, there was a bowl of sugar in the raw waiting for us at breakfast. We truly enjoyed every moment spent in the area and at The Oaks Victorian Inn.

The owners of this bed and breakfast are incredibly friendly and helpful individuals and will even go so far as to cook for specific dietary needs. They offer lots of resources so you can find plenty to do within walking distance as well as within the next few towns. The rooms are unique and charming and the building itself is quite a historical treasure!

People were so nice. Breakfast was extremely good! Room was relatively small, but very clean and nice. They were really accommodating and moved breakfast early just for us.

My husband and I went for a getaway that would be peaceful and fun. The Innkeepers were such gracious hosts. The house is gorgeous, as is the quaint, detached cottage where we stayed. It's very clean, well kept and obviously cared for with pride.
The breakfast was not only delicious, but it was just the right amount. The housekeeper was very accommodating as well and she remembered every little detail to make our stay extra special.
The owners, Linda & Bernie made sure everyone was happy with their accommodations and were very helpful with directions and information on things to do, where to eat and events.
We can't say enough about The Oaks, but I can say that we'll definitely visit again. It's not just a place to stay, it's an experience

We booked a weekend stay at The Oaks Victorian Inn while we visited Va Tech and some local attractions. This home is beautiful and it's warmth is only exceeded by the Innkeepers Linda and Bernie. Their longterm assistant Edie was also a delightful addition to our stay there. our first night there Linda recommended we go to a nearby town where locals gather to play Bluegrass Music. Wow what a wonderful surprise. We are planning to go back this Fall, hopefully catch a Tech Game and walk the Cascades again. I guarantee you will love your visit. A day doesn't go by that I don't spend a few moments thinking about my weekend at The Oaks Victorian Inn.
