I enjoyed my stay I would come back Their breakfast is pretty basic. But aside from that big rooms and fridge, microwave, ironing board and tons to do around it. Great for a cheaper motel to stay in!

We have stayed here twice now. Great place to stay if you are in Asheville and don't want to break the bank. Good location to downtown. Just a bit outdated, but to me, it's character. Will stay again!

Checked in, and checked out less than 3 hours later. “Clean” is not a vibe I got. But the ultimate reason for leaving is that you have no control over the air in your your room. The thermostat is in the office and controls sections of the motel. I have never been to a place where you cannot control the temperature of your room.

Fantastic service! Room was very clean and well stocked and parking was ample! Perfect location for tourists and in a beautiful area. In fact they are nice enough to be sending my wallet to me that i had left in my room, now that is awesome! Mountaineer inn was fantastic!

While it is an older inn it is very clean and well kept. The front desk staff are welcoming and friendly. It is fairly close to dining and shopping

Great place to stay. They are friendly not only with the inn but will help you with places to go to shop and eat. The rooms are great. Very home like and just down to earth, we will always be staying here from now on. My kids loved it and the inn was great with my kids. Breakfast was good and was on till 11am.

    Pros!
    - Friendly, caring staff
    - Slept well with a comfy bed
    - Warm shower
    - Full length mirror
    - Beautiful wooden wall
    - Well-furnished rooms
    - Good looking bagels and juices for breakfast

    Cons
    - Air controlled in office
    - Gap under the door let in lots of noise and wind
    - Tiny shower
    - Obvious aesthetic issues in some places
    - Lights outside of windows at night shine directly in
    - Window in the bathroom gives a quaint "prison yard" feel
    - Bedding from Holiday Inn??
    - Evening staff appeared undertrained and lacked confidence

Overall, not a terrible stay! Though we did shove our towels under the door for less "ambiance" and we stayed kinda cold the whole time. The staff appeared very genuine and caring and didn't pretend that this was a 5 star establishment. Ultimately, we thought it should be a bit cheaper.

It's interesting. It's pretty. The crowd was more biker type when I picked up my grandparents very briefly. Got to go inside as well. It looks like a cheap motel that was renovated to look like a cabin. It's cute and seems comfortable. Good view and good part of the street

Location is awesome - only a couple miles downtown. Room smelled like smoke. Bed and pillow weren't that comfortable. Bathtub looked dirty. If it weren't for the location, I wouldn't stay there again.

The rooms are dated and have a smoky smell, but the beds are clean and comfortable. Tv worked fine too. Overall it is a 2-3 hotel.

Not bad if you're looking for an inexpensive room. Friendly staff. It's an older establishment so the carpet was old and slightly stained. Other than that no complaints. Room did have a fridge but no microwave.

I really liked this place. I mean, its not the Ritz, but for the money you pay, its pretty great.
It's family owned. It was clean, no bugs, the toilet was tricky but managable, a/c worked fine. We were in the newer (1970s or 80s) building in back, which was disappointing, as I had hoped to be in the roadside court built in the 40s or 50s. But we had a view of the next mountain so that was nice. The TV was old/small (32in), but we didn't come to Asheville to watch TV.
