Illuminations at the Morton Arboretum is truly a sight to behold. It's about a mile walk, basically a loop of beautifully lighted trees that change colors. Some to various types of music or laser. We were there for the evening show, so the pathways are quite dark. Concession stands along the way sell hot beverages perfect for the cold weather. Can hardly wait for this year's presentation. Was told by one of the staff to see Illuminations when there is snow on the ground. It's quite magical. This is a ticketed event where you select a time slot that sells out quickly. Don't miss it! Stop by the gift shop on the way out. They have so many beautiful things to purchase.

Morton is absolutely beautiful! They regularly have new events or special displays. The Christmas lights event is incredible. The troll hunt is delightful!!! The various older buildings are stunning. Three hedge maze is fun. It's a wonderful place to spend a free afternoon!

We really enjoyed seeing the trolls in the summer and can't wait for the next exhibit.

The winter light show was fun, yet cold. Luckily there was "adult" hot chocolate, as it was extremely cold. The breathing trees are really cool, and the fire pits help keep you warm on the journey. Really just a cool place to visit and see trees in there natural habitat.

This is a great location for people of every age! The Morton Arboretum is such a positive place for nature and full of creativity. They offer many classes and events throughout the year that can be enjoyed by members and nonmembers alike. If you live nearby, it is definitely worth the membership! The paths are well marked and many of the trees have ID badges so there’s learning to be had along the way. It isn’t usually too busy when we visit but the parking lots do get crowded during events. I have really enjoyed the Illumination event the Arboretum hosts every winter. It is incredible! Such a great place in Lisle, Illinois.

1. The best place for family hang out.
2. The staffs are friendly.
3. You can register yourself as member and they have reward or price when you reach some amount of visitation.
4. And when I was there, I had nice experience with their special event. Illuminating forest.
5. People who loved arts and trees would love this place.

The holiday Illumination was beautiful! I didn't think I'd be as impressed as I was. The trees and lights were pretty awesome. I am always cold & it was 29°, but I bundled up & loved the warming stations. There were just enough so I wasn't miserable in between stops and they weren't too crowded. Alcohol, hot chocolates (spiked or not) soft pretzels & some other limited snacks were available along the trail. There were more food/drink options in the cafe before you start & when you're done. They do have their specialty beer of which some $ goes back to the Arboretum. I was told by my husband that it was pretty tasty. I would definitely go back, but the illumination medallion was silly, so I'd skip it. Kids would probably love it, but I found it distracting to have a giant, flashing snowflake around my neck.

Love the Morton Arboretum! It is an amazing park known for its conservatory efforts. Beautiful outdoor area. Bike and walking paths. Parking is free with a membership. Of you plan to visit more than once get the membership. There is always something happening here on the weekends. Great place if you love the outdoors. Also great for kids!

Attended a wedding here and strongly recommend! Pros: The food was phenomenal and the waitstaff's service was outstanding! Our main "waitress" could not have been more accommodating towards us and the three children seated at our table. There were several courses consisting of: bread, salad, sorbet, and then the main meal. I had the eggplant vegetarian meal while my spouse had the red meat option, and both were delicious! The setting for the wedding was before a glass wall overlooking a pond and it was lovely. Cons: We had to wait over an hour for the reception because the ceremony was held in the same room so seating had to be reorganized and tables set up. While we were waiting there were almost no chairs and we were crowded in the lobby area to stand around the visitor center! There was no clear signage for the wedding from the parking lot to the reception area, and there was more than one going on to further confuse the matter.

Perfect place to go for a long walk. The west side has a lot of water and is more hilly. The east side is flat out spectacular during autumn. Try the soft toffee made with Arboretum honey in the gift shop. It's unbelievable. The children's garden is outstanding and full of activities and playgrounds. Dogs are allowed one Saturday in March, May, September and November. I have a 2 person yearly membership for $90 and any two of us can use it. It's well worth it.

Always a beautiful place to visit. The children's garden is so much fun. I am always excited to be able to bring my kids here to spend the day out in nature. The highlight in the children's garden for us is the ponds. You can take your shoes off and wade through or step from rock to rock. There are tadpoles and frogs to catch and observe as well as dragon flies. So much fun.

If you love trees and want an escape from urban/suburban life this is the place to go in the Western suburbs. But pricey unless you buy a membership and use it. The childrens' garden is nice for kids and the maze is fun. My favorite thing, though, is just to enjoy the varied outdoor scenery as stated he seasons change. If that is the sort of thing you like, you are likely to enjoy the Arboretum too.

Great place to lose that down feeling. You can rent a bike or bring your own. Drive your car to see the tree's and flowers throughout the park. There are also many trails that you can walk. The visitors center is a great place to get souvenirs and a place to grab a bite to eat.

Have visited the Arboretum at intervals since childhood, and it is better each time. Beautiful scenery and trees. Fantastic children's maze (now that the hedges are fully grown), Children's Garden. Wonderful hiking, biking (and driving) trails. Narrated open-air tram tours of the grounds are a delight. Pleasant restaurant. A great way to spend a reasonably priced day. You will enjoy the immense beauty of the place and learn a lot in the process - a definite highlight of NE Illinois (though the Morton Arboretum boasts trees from all over the world).

Great place to bring the kids and also for the kid at heart. The children area is really nice and overall the entire park is well maintained. The restaurant offers good quality food and healthy options, although a bit pricey. Highly recommend for the entire family. There's a train shuttle available, note the park is huge, great for biking and walking around.

I have had a family membership here for about 4 years now. It's a great place to visit for just taking a walk, bike ride or a challenging run. Great place to take the kids during the summer and let them play in the children's area.

Its really a beautiful place. I visited it in Oct end and hence the fall colors were really awesome. There are various kind of species of trees.
Specially the spots near parking space P5, P7 are amazing.
There are P1 - P33 parking spots where you can park and then walk a little bit and enjoy the scenery. There are trails too.
The maze garden is also fun to play with your friends.
It is really an amazing place to visit for the fall colors.

Has a few nice areas and multiple hiking and biking trail loops. Not sure if it was worth $14 but definitely worth at least checking out once.
