This book store was everything I was looking to experience. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly great vibes & not intrusive or at all. I don't like shopping with a stalker asking me if I'm ok every time I move to another aisle. .AND they had some adorably chill cats that made it that much more welcoming ♡

Amazing ambience due to thousands of books, many of those vintage. Even more amazing are the beautiful cats (2 ?) that "guard" the premises. Their humans are very helpful also. If I was in better health, I would visit more often.

The best place for weird, obscure, dusty old tomes. Always find something fun here, and that rare book section is stunningly cool. Can find a little bit of everything at The Iliad, old and new!

This used bookshop is absolutely wonderful. They have an extensive collection of literature, nonfiction, graphic novels, plays, and even some rare books as well. Beautiful murals greet you as you enter, and they have 2 cats! This is one of my favorite places in North Hollywood. I recommend everyone to visit!

A deceptively small building on the outside, the inside of this store is absolutely massive. I've been here several times and I'm always discovering new books. The employees are friendly (including the cats) and are very helpful if you nees help finding any specific books you'd need.

SO MANY BOOKS. Great prices, too. I've been to some used book stores that overcharge. They also have free books out front. It's very clean and well organized, and they have a very friendly shop 🐈!

In a world where nearly everyone is either listening to someone else read books to them or people carrying hundreds of "books" around in a device, Iliad Bookstore is a breath of fresh air! Such a variety, nicely laid out and clearly marked sectionsyou can find everything from DIY on jewelry making to ancient architecture to the most popular fiction. Great place to buy, browse or even just to find a quiet corner to read in. Nothing beats the smell of the pages of a REAL book!

I love this place! So nice to have a real bookstore close by. I picked out what I wanted then sat reading on one of the comfortable couches while my friend browsed the shelves.

Absolutely magical! This used bookstore has so much inventory and the books are reasonably priced. The staff is great. They're very helpful and knowledgeable. I was able to find some books I've been looking for, all under $5. The store has some fur friends as well. The cats hang out at the store so if you're allergic probably best to skip.

Absolutely love this place! I always leave happy and with lots of great (and often unexpected) reads. I greatly appreciate the variety and ambience - including the old school library ladder in the section I frequent and that old book musky smell floating throughout the store. This will be my (used) bookstore of choice for as long as I live in CA . If you like to read, you should definitely give The Iliad Bookshop a visit!

A rare gem in our digital and 130 character obsessed world!

This bookstore has a cute novelty façade of books on Cauenga, and a great parking lot in the back off Chandler. They have large film and music sections as well as quite a selection of unique sections that cover every topic from crafts to philosophy to graphic novels to circus (yes, there's a circus section).
The staff are friendly and helpful. The shop smells like books and dust (as a bookstore should), but beware the cat if you're highly allergic - you may not be able to browse as much as you could! This place is bigger than it looks in House of Leaves fashion.

The book marms are exceedingly helpful in finding what you're looking for. This is the best place to surround yourself with bookish things. Try to avoid the occasional cat-induced book avalanche. They're impish little creatures. One minute the felines are mobbing the couch, crawling at a snail's pace, the next they're scaling the stacks, lobbing paperbacks at each-other and the unfortunate passerby.
Bring a healthy love of books and occasional mischief.

This is one of my favorite used bookstores. Since I am in the film business, it's sometimes difficult to find good deals on those types of books, even on Amazon and EBay. The Iliad had a ton of the books I was looking for, and some were $1 to $15. They have a huge selection and it grows everyday.
