I drive north from Chicago frequently throughout the year and The Great Dane is one of my favorite places to stop for amazing food and even better beer. Nothing better than their cheese curds and a beer!!!

Options for everyone. Massive menu- you could come here every day for a month and have a different (and delicious) meal each time! The food is spectacular, great ambiance, just a block from capital square. Huge beer selection and awesome drinks!

The garden out back was very cool, I had never sat down there before. The food was good i had the German sausage plate. They were out of the orchard IPA but the beer the waitress sugested was good so not to bad over all.

I've never loved the food in the Great Dane, but I can also say that it's been consistently fine. They have a decent beer selection and the atmosphere is cool. It may not be exactly the right pub for me, but it's got a lot going for it.

Very cool atmosphere. They have their specialty beers (crop circle wheat is highly recommended). They have pool tables and shuffle boards on the first floor. And on the lower floor they have an outdoor garden for with romantic feel. It's definitely one if the best places to check in Madison

Very nice restaurant with a friendly staff. It was pretty busy. Taste of Madison was just today as well so that may effect how busy it is. I have the German sausage plate. Fantastic brat and mashed potatoes. Comes with a bunch and gherkin pickles. There was a lot of saurkraut on the plate. It's a German dish after all! I will come back here

great patio in back, many people forget about this gem. Also checkout the brunch. Its great but come hungry or its not worth the money. Burgers can seriously improve.. we are in Wisconsin and there are so many good burgers, i enjoy the DANE but that part of the menu is always decent at best and nothing to rave about like over at Tipsy : )

Wonderful service, we went during lunch on a Saturday and there was no wait. The cheese curds are very good and the dipping sauce is as well. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich and it was amazing. Somewhat spicy but not too much. The chipotle mayo was perfect to go along with the chicken. My mom ordered the Forward falafel sandwich, which I tried, and it was equally incredible. Would definitely go again.

Love all the different foods here. You can get all your regular pub grub and then you can also get mouthwatering trendy foods as well. Their drinks are fantastic as well. Perfect for everyone and any outing. gone for dates and diners and it has been a perfect setting every time.

Have been going to great Dane for several years. We could go and eat any where in Madison area. We CHOOSE to return to the Great Dane as a few of their dishes are very unique to then, and the quality of food and service is consistentSimple when in Madison Great Dane is a good local drink and food experience.

Large restaurant with multiple seating options. The beer garden is just great when it's nice out. It's relatively enclosed from other other buildings surrounding it, and laid out very well. The food has been fantastic both times I've visited. The wait staff is attentive but not intrusive. Even on a Wisconsin game day Saturday! The beer is a shining star. Every brew I've had has been no less than good and usually amazing. Using appropriate glassware really sets them high. Great spot for any time of the day.
