Staff is top notch. Facility feels run down in spots. Our room had a lovely view outside and a giant stain on the ceiling inside. Furniture out side the conference rooms was in pretty rough shape. The food was excellent and once again staff was fantastic.

Great room, facilities and staff. First class.

Have stayed several times. The remodel will be nice but some services have been restrained.

They only have 1 charging station for electric cars other than Tessla's which has 7. The two are not compatible

I attended my niece's wedding at the Fess Parker, in October of 2017. It is a beautiful venue for a wedding, and a wonderful place to stay as well. The grounds are stunning, it's located directly across the street from the beach. The rooms are located on a vast plot of land, and golf carts with drivers are available 24/7 to get you to yours! The food is fabulous on site, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well. The Fess Parker and surrounding area will not disappoint!

Definitely not a luxury hotel. Pros: staff is very friendly and helpful, location to beach is key, ocean view if you pay extra to book the right room.
CONs: rooms are dated, and needs to be updated, - furniture & carpet. Parking key card (to enter/leave) doesn't work. It took 20 min to exit because most cars were stuck at the gate. I exchanged my card key twice, and they all didn't work. My conference was booked here, but if I had a choice, I would not stay here.

Great location, I loved being able to sit outside and watch the ocean with my morning Starbucks (in the lobby-bonus). The rooms aree spacious and comfortable. There is a vanity & sink outside of the bathroom, so thoughtful when there are multiple people getting ready. Comfortable beds and pillows and a lovely little sitting area. Would definitely recommend!

The Fess Parker is a lovely venue that has been around for many decades. My colleagues and I have greatly enjoyed visiting for both professional and personal experiences. The view of the ocean and location is perfect - definitely worth the time spent there!

Great resort near the beach. They have a swimming pool and they provide towels. Rooms are big (at least ours was!) and there are a few amenities around the hotel. Parking is provided if you have a car

Was here for a wedding across the street at the beach. This is a beautiful hotel. The staff is so friendly. Bellhop helped us carry ALL of our stuff out to the car with a huge smile. 10/10 would recommend. Great location too.

I only stayed here 2 nights. The first night my toilet wouldn't flush. The hotel was fully booked, and they could not put me in another room. I was nicely told to use the public pool bath room. By the next morning I had "hot burning anger." This is an expensive hotel. Then I was moved to another room, which smelled musty. It looked like there had been a leak upstairs, and mold was growing through the ceiling paint. AND while the toilet worked better, it still required multiple flushes. I'm not excessive with toilet paper, nor did I flush any feminine products. I was refunded only $200. The room cost $550 per night. They said a huge renovation was happening soon. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here until this renovation happens, and the plumbing has been completely redone.

Great rooms with amazing views! Came for a conference in May and our room was right across the street from the ocean with a nice balcony for coffee mornings. Great restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Great location. Reserved a 2 queen ocean view room during a weekend packed with weddings. Unfortunately my room was right above the hotel bar. It was a busy night and folks were having too much fun until 1am so no sleep for me. Friendly management relocated me the next morning when they had a clean room further away from the main venue.

The service was great. Friendly and professional as to be expected. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is relaxing. The rooms, though clean and comfortable, are straight out of the Golden Girls. Don't expect any wow factor outside of " Wow, I paid that much for Blanche's room!" The experience is great over all and I would recommend The Fess to anyone.

My wife and I just had our wedding there last week, and we couldn't have been happier with how everything went. We worked with Daisy, Jennifer, Sunni, and Jocilyn, and every one of them was incredibly helpful and very fast to respond to emails while we were figuring out all of the details beforehand.

Once we got there, they all made sure that we were very well taken care of. The wedding itself was very nice, with everything going according to plan (other than some freak wind gusts). Nothing unexpected popped up and we weren't charged for anything that wasn't agreed upon. It couldn't have gone more smoothly and we have the wonderful staff at the Fess Parker to thank for it!

Its location on the Santa Barbara beach cannot be beat, the views and areas to walk are unsurpassed. The public areas ,bar, dinning ,lobby are all pleasant and well kept up. But for the premium price one pays to stay at this property the rooms are seriously dated and not adequate. For $450 a night we had a room that was essentially a duplicate of what we could have found in a low budget franchise room anywhere in town, seriously outdated. In addition the toiletries provided were not the premium quality that one would expect in a first class property, not much better than you would find in a discount motel chain. There are better quality places to stay in Santa Barbara, with better ambiance for a comparable price.
